According to 12 News, we could hear something about Amare, Diaw and Horry at 12 EST (9am AZ time) today.

Crossing my fingers.

If Stat and Diaw get suspended, after Bowen not getting anything but a slap on the wrist, the Suns should make every effort to put Duncan, Bowen, Parker and Ginobelli in the hospital.

Very classy.

I hope nobody gets suspended but IMO, Horry deserves it and Amare definitely broke a rule that 100% of the time leads to suspension.

That's the Chicago way.

Yup - just leveling the playing field, since it is obvious that the Spurs are trying to do that to the Suns.

It is funny, I have never wished that on anyone/team before. But I've never had one of my teams play such a dirty team as the Spurs, who ARE trying to hurt/injure the Suns.

I wonder if the location of the next game will have any impact on the decision.

Suns fans are gonna be LIVID if Amare and Diaw are suspended and will certainly show their displeasure.

I should hopefully be there if I win this Ebay auction.

Good luck! That's exciting.

We should have a thread where ASFNers can write signs for people to take into the game. I bet we'd get some good ones. :)

I don't think anyone is trying to seriously hurt anyone else. Playoff basketball is very physical and it didn't start with the Spurs. I think it has become more of a head game that the Spurs are using to intimidate the Suns. Well...it really backfired on them when they couldn't close out game 4.

It looked to me like Horry was actually trying to hurt Nash!
Did you see the way he went back at Bell and the look in his eyes? He wanted to hit him and did give him an elbow!

The fight was almost, or over when Amare left the bench. Diaw left it right away and was running to Nash.

I think they are hyping this some and that neither Amare or Diaw will get suspended.

eastvalleytribune.com is reporting that it may not be available until tomorrow. That would suck for all of our anxieties

Actually, the crazy looks Horry displayed reminded me of those of Raja's after his clothlining last year. The difference is he held onto Kobe long enough to make sure he didn't get hurt, while Horry was like "I don't care" in his demeanor.

That would suck for gameplanning, too.

The Spurs pretty much know Horry is gone, but how are the Suns supposed to prepare without knowing who they are even gonna be allowed to put on the floor?

Better not take until tomorrow, that's ridiculous for the coaching staff.

No, the guys on 12 News said 12 PM EST, so 9am our time.

But they are all probably wrong.

I don't have an entire day to read all the posts on this subject, but I have read all the write-ups on six different sports sites. Just as fan opinion will be predictably pro and con regarding suspension of Suns players, the sports writers also have different takes about what should/could happen.
The general opinion is that the league is in a bind with this one. Do they stick to the rule about leaving the bench or do they look at the whole picture? One thing in our favor is that the entire basketball world saw what happened and how it went down, and if Amare does get suspended for a game everyone in that world outside of San Antonio will be pulling for the Suns the rest of the way. This is a really good example of how most will look at it if there are multiple suspensions:

(Tim Keown on ESPN)
"You want to hand it over to the team that committed the cheap shot? That's what a suspension of Stoudemire and Diaw will do. The NBA is faced with flexing a little on an unnecessarily inflexible rule or running the risk of allowing Horry to win the series with a cheap, flagrant foul on one of the league's marquee players.

Diaw and Stoudemire should have known better, no question. Still, their franchise guy was down. They didn't know whether he was hurt, or how badly. They reacted, then unreacted, with the idea of sticking up for Nash.

Adding to the emotion is the behind-the-woodshed treatment Nash has received the whole series, and it's not surprising their first thought wasn't, "Oh, golly, I better stay here and let the authorities handle it."

So tough call, NBA, but not really."
