Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will be eligible to be inducted into the Patriots' Hall of Fame this year, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Edelman's career with the Patriots spanned from 2009 to 2020. He played in 137 games and finished with 620 receptions for 6,822 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns.

He also played a pivotal role in the postseason. He recorded 180 receptions for 1,442 yards in 27 playoff games. This led to him finishing only behind Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice for the most receiving yards in the postseason.

He was named Super Bowl LIII MVP as well after tallying 10 receptions for 141 yards to help the Patriots defeat the Los Angeles Rams.

Reiss wrote:

"Receiver Julian Edelman is eligible for the first time. Kicker Adam Vinatieri was first eligible last year but there was no formal process because Tom Brady was the no-vote-needed nominee. In 2023, when Vrabel was the inductee, offensive lineman Logan Mankins and coach Bill Parcells (1993 to 1996) were the other finalists (Parcells, who remains a constant on this reporter's ballot, for a fifth time)."

It was certainly quite the career for Edelman, who went from a relatively unknown player to a key part of the Patriots' history. Now, he will have his chance to be permanently enshrined among the Patriots’ greats.
