From Schefter:

Adam_Schefter Filed to ESPN: Cardinals have told Matt Leinart they will release him today. Max Hall will be No. 2 QB.

So Max Hall is now our "Jim Sorgi/Curtis Painter", too bad we don't have a Preston Manning.

P.S. I know Sorgi is no longer in Indy.

I dont know why anyone seems shocked, the writing was on the wall!!! Wiz pratically stated what was going to do with Matt without directly saying it. He served no use as a backup here, mentally to the team.

I'm not shocked. Certainly not a big fan of Matt's. But regardless he was the best option as a #2. Its not even close. Just not a good decision IMO.

I agree. There was some slippery phrasing and shuffling by Whiz yesterday, that lead me to believe that it was all over.

I totally agree. I just can't believe that Whiz would be OK going into the season with a rookie back-up. Especially with a QB like Anderson, who is eratic at best.

He is headed to Seattle. They cut JP Losman today....so they are down to two quarterbacks....and Seattle is the 6th team in line to claim him on waivers

For Leinart's sake, I hope that is where he lands. Laid back town, laid back coach, familiarity and support from coach. It would really be the best thing for him.

Shane, I completely agree. While I have always been a Matt supporter, I began to look more closely at his play this preseason and could see the point you and others were making about his ability to get the ball where it needed to be.

In spite of this, I can't believe they would go with Hall at #2...nevermind the fact we have DA at #1

Ugh...I really don't want him in a situation where he can thrive and play us 2 times a year.

I just seen on ESPN that Thesmel is at Cardinal headquarters demanding to speak with Wiz ASAP, he wants answers.

Well, I did say "for Leinart's sake". It would be one of those typical bites in the butt if he played and played well for the Seahawks.
