Really?? "Thrive"??? Both Seattle and the 9ers have issues on the o-line. All we would need to do is bring pressure and cover the short routes. Matty will suffer... not thrive!!!;)

Yes, thrive. Unlike you, I think Matt's issues are in his head, not in his talent. He needs coddling, clearly. Whis doesn't coddle.

Has an UDFA QB ever started a game as a rookie? I certainly can't think of any. Well, we're now one DA injury away from breaking that ground. What a terrifying thought.

I'm pretty sure Matt Moore was a rook last year.

Leinart was handed the starting job and inspired confidence in no one; Not players, not coaches or fans (THESMEL not included).

Jeez, did you watch the Tennessee preseason game? The guy has been in the league 4+ years and in that game he looked like an undrafted rookie who had never taken an NFL snap.

That game was the final nail in Matt's AZ coffin, IMO.

He is headed to Seattle. They cut JP Losman today....so they are down to two quarterbacks....and Seattle is the 6th team in line to claim him on waivers
this,
get ready to see him twice a year, carrol will make him a star in the nfl, god derrick anderson? max hall will be starting before the seasons over major rebuilding here we come,
6 and 10 will be damn good for us this year

I am sure a lot more fans wish the team pursued McNabb now...

If you told me DA was going to be our starter the beginning of the offseason, I would have been on the McNabb and Campbell bandwagon. That is coming from their biggest detractor of the two when their names came up months ago.

Sorry but 9 year olds really aren't considered women yet.

:mulli:

Actually, she's only 8, but she wore her jersey to school about 3 days a week, slept in it..she'll be broken hearted :D

LMAO... "coddle"?? Who the hell gets "coddled" in the NFL?? YOU either step up to the challenge and become a leader, or YOU don't.
Matty's issues are part talent, with huge dose of lacking "want-to"!

I'm not saying that Matty won't become a starter somehwere else... I hope he does actually... because he will then finally be exposed for who he is, and the focus will cease to be placed on Whiz's "mistreatment" of poor 'lil "Matty! ;)

My first question to Whiz as a reporter would be: "Did you ask ML to be the team's number 2 QB?

(The answer to that will give us pretty good idea as to what went down and how)

I can see Leinart saying "no" to being a backup which led to this.

I like Max Hall's potential, but this is absolutely crazy. Has an UDFA QB ever started a game as a rookie? I certainly can't think of any. Well, we're now one DA injury away from breaking that ground. What a terrifying thought.

Someone in the organization really messed up on this one. Even Brady Quinn brought a pick and Peyton Hillis in return. Not to mention our new starting QB has only gotten first team reps with this team for two weeks. I'm not saying letting Leinart go will be bad for the team in the end, although I think it will hurt in the short term. But the way this went down is inexcusable.

You know, I really didn't think much of Leinart skipping the media session after the first preseason game, but now it makes sense. Much more sense than Matt forgetting about it.

Farewell to the most controversial Cardinal of all time.

Whiz is staking every bit of goodwill he's earned to DA and two rookies. I'm not sure if he's completely to blame for that though.

I wonder if Matt will end up with the NY Giants, they cut QB Rhett Bomar.

Dude, seriously. Lightning in a bottle isn't something you just grab when you want it. It was nice and all, but most of us, you included, want a winner year in and year out. Whis is building that. The recipe doesn't include hoping to hit on a journeyman QB. Go back and catalog our starting QBs for the last 20 years and tell me what you find. Hint: it's a lot of work and you'll be doing a lot of writing. That's not good, and neither were we.

If so, it was absolutely INSANE that they didn't move him in the offseason. I have to disagree because I don't think the team and Whis are that stupid.

I know Donald... and I know a journeyman like Warner only comes around once in a lifetime.
Still, I am not all ruling out the potential for DA to do something special here. And if not, I am also not ruling the potential for Hall to become a Jeff Garcia, only surrouned by better coaching and more talent...

I would take McNabb in a heartbeat over DA.

Why wouldn't we hold on to him and then trade him to a team that has a qb go down with an injury later in the season???
