Based on what I observed from today's FanFest, Leinart's arm is far better than advertised. IMO, it was the best of the bunch! All of his passes (whether short, intermediate, or long), were all right on the money and thrown with terrific zip. He throws a very tight spiral, and doesn't labor throwing to any spot on the field. He leads the receivers very nicely and looks very good in his drops.

We all knew about Leinart's accuracy in college, but I just don't remember him throwing with this much velocity while at USC. His passes today however, were a thing of beauty. He throws w/ great ease, and looks very smooth doing it.

Last year I was commenting to a buddy about Warner's deep ball... How we finally have a QB who can throw it accurately. I'm now rethinking my position based on how Leinart looks throwing the ball deep. Between Warner, Leinart, Navarre, and Davey - Leinart throws the most catchable ball. He throws it with tremendous accuracy, has the tightest spiral, and throws to every part of the field equally well. Basically a left handed Tom Brady!

While Warner throws a nice ball, his spiral tends to flutter tip to tip on the intermediate stuff. Navarre kind of slings it from below the shoulder, and Davey is all over the place eventhough he throws a decent spiral. Based on throwing ability alone, Leinart proved to me that he's at least the #2 QB on the depth chart. I know that picking up the playbook is another story all together. With his intelligence and experience, picking up the playbook and executing on game day will never be an issue.

Folks, I think we finally have our QBOF... And boy, wasn't it worth the wait?

That's great news.!!! That was my biggest concern. Hearing Jaworski, Hodge and some of the other talking heads on tv really was getting me concerned with his arm strength.

That is good news, hopefully he can turn out to be the best QB of the bunch like I expect. It will be exciting watching him, Boldin, Fitz, Edge and hopefully Pope will be good. This team could make the playoffs the next two years and I think they will be contenders in 3.

Anybody ever catch a football from a left-handed thrower? I wonder how much of a difference it makes for the receivers?

I don't think it'll make much of a difference. The QB still has to put it in the same spot doesen't he? I think that it will be Leinart that will have to adjust a little.

I am sure it is negligible, I was just thinking about the rotation of the ball and angle in which it came down, it could possibly have different tailing action as well.

I am probably thinking more about this than is necessary.

Statistically, left handed QB's have had higher numbers that rate QB's over time. In much of the time the intended receiver just uses the opposite hand to secure the completion as opposed to from a right hand QB.

that is why i go with what i see. i watched leinart play at usc for the past 3 years and he threw the ball with strength and accuracy. leinart threw a great deep ball.

jaws, hodge, and others are there to boost ratings and their pocket book. you can take film and make a case for whatever you want to. quaterbacks are going to have good and bad throws in a game. basically a player going to have good and bad plays. so i always trust what i see.

unfortunally if you dont' get to watch a player play you have to relie on a bunch of bais bozos for your information.

Accuracy and smarts are the two things I like best about Leinart.

He seems to be like a coach on the field and from watching him just a few times his arm seems good enough for the NFL...and the playoffs.

The Brady comparison is pretty accurate as far as arm strength goes. They both don't have great arm strength but the accuracy they throw the ball with makes it seem negligable (sp?).

I don't intend to knock Leinart, I am happy he is a Cardinal. But from my perspective his passes were about the same as all the QB's today. Not noticebly better or worse.

It was a relaxed and easy practice, all four QB's looked good, as they should given the circumstances...

Joe Montana wasnt known for his arm strength either. As for lefties, Steve Young wasn't bad either.
