Catfish and collard greens.
OOOOOOOOO and some baked yams to boot-----I'm there !!!!
Catfish and collard greens.
While following the logic that even the best of players dont usually step in and produce then it would follow that a 3rd round draft pick is not going to replace BOLDIN and a 2nd rounder isnt going to put up the numbers Dansby did.
Our 3rd round pick isn't asked to replace Boldin, at the most he is asked to replace Breaston and at least he is asked to return punts and be as productive as last years 4th WR's were (Urban & Doucet's combined numbers last year were 35 receptions 400 yds & 1 TD--those are very realistic numbers for Roberts)...Breaston fills Boldins role(he had 1 less TD and averaged more yards per catch than Boldin last year, he just didn't see the ball as much).
As for the 2nd rounder replacing Dansby--I agree, its too much to expect of him this year. He will face a learning curve.
But there are some other things you can expect from us...better production from the RB's, more play action passing, Leinart won't be throwing the ball nearly as much as Warner and he shouldn't have to. Opponents can't roll extra bodies in to the box and ignore Fitz, Breaston, Doucet & Roberts---doubt Leinart if you want but he is more than capable of finding the open man. While there will be a drop off from Warner to Leinart I don't think it will be as steep as people assume.
We still have the best coaching staff in the Division and probably top 5 in the NFC, they aren't going to be unprepared...if we take a step back its not going to be by much.
I first want to say that you guys where in the S.B. two years ago and in testament to the strength of your team, you where in the playoffs the following year. I might be mistaken but I believe the majority of those players that where part of the S.B. team are no longer around.
Im all for optimism and as a good fan you have to keep your sanity by telling yourself that the guys that where drafted on the second and third day are gonna be SOLID. But the reality is Warner is gone and Im in the same boat when I say that your current Q.B. situation is shaky at best. While following the logic that even the best of players dont usually step in and produce then it would follow that a 3rd round draft pick is not going to replace BOLDIN and a 2nd rounder isnt going to put up the numbers Dansby did.
But lets imagine these players do produce but even with those players you had holes much like ourselves the difference is we replaced bad players and added depth while had to replace good players and hope and pray that they pan out.
Again Im all for optimism and Im trying to be respectful on your home turf. But when I read things like you feel better for x y and z and it doesnt make football sense Im gonna call you on it.
Cheers,
Thanks for raining on the parade. At the very least, we're better off than we were before the draft, so let us have our back pats and shove it 9ertroll.
Thats very interesting and you make tremendous points! I just wonder why you feel your production from the RB s will improve being that outside of Faneca (which I feel is great pick up) you guys didnt draft to imrove your line or get any RBs. I dont think teams will fear lienhart the way they did with warner( hated him) and because of that theyll put 8 in the box and basically do what Defenses have done to us the past 2 years.
Why do I think the running game will improve? Because Beanie Wells was a rookie last year and got better as the year went on. All Hightower has to do is maintain what he did last year.
The running game went from having 1 100 yard game the first 6 games of the year to having 8 of the last 12 (including both playoff games). 4 of the last 5 games the team went over 100 yards, the only exception was the last regular season game where the team mailed it in knowing their playoff seeding was set.
You can put 8 in the box and single cover Fitz or Breaston and you'll get killed. Teams did that to the 49ers because none of your WRs scared anyone.
Oh and let me add Leinart > Alex Smith, it'll be proven on the field this year too.
Hey 9'r Troll-----We did lose Warner, but we did not lose our running game. Together, Wells and Hightower averaged 4.1 ypc last year, and that was with an O-line geared to pass-protect for Warner. If anything, our running game will be even better this year, and because Leinart is going to be under center a lot, you guys will not know if we run or pass. (No move loading up the box and blitzing the passer play after play after play).
Our offense will be different from last year, (balanced), but it will not be impotent. Leinart has many weapons to go to, and he WILL go off on you, either by the run, by play action, or by any number of receivers, including Hightower and Wells. I look forward to kicking some 49'r butt this year, because we are no longer one demensional like last year's pass first, (pass only) version of football. Get ready for some real confusion throughout your defense when you try to cover everything that you think you will be seeing on the field this year.
Oh, and as for Frank Gore, you can tell him that we no longer have that skinny little nose tackle in the middle of our D-line. We will be shoving a bonifide 325 lbs fire plug at you that has a non-stop motor to anchor the middle between Dockett and Campbell.
And be afraid, be very afraid, of Adrian Wilson. He will not be relegated to pass coverage like last year, because we no longer have to keep him back to cover Rolle's weaknesses. Don't forget about him, because when you do, he will knock you out, and you won't even have seen it coming.
By the way, this is MY thread-----I started it, and I'm going to finish it,-----so you can take your lame trolling back to the Bay and play with your girlie-man friends. The road to this division runs through Glendale, and this Glendale is in the desert. Just take I-5 to I-10 and turn left until you see the big silver dome with the red bird on the side. That's where your season ends you jerk.
HAHAHAHAHA this has been by far my favorite post of the night. Right on bro made it worth staying up late for this.
Pretty good, pretty funny...so let me see I take the I-5 to the I-10 and turn left? Is the dome on the right or left?
No! you know what dont tell me I want to be surprised. I just love surprises. It just so surprises me to know that your team doesnt follow the laws of the world. That there is a dome in Glendale that is a magical place where fantasy is reality. A place that does not need facts! FACTS! No, scoff at facts...who needs em? All they ever did was hold people back from realizing thier dreams.
I believe that if you say the most ridiculous things imaginable enough times eventually theyll be true! Right catfish.
Here say it with me..ALLTOGETHER NOW! "I think I can, I think I can, OH boy OH boy, I think I can!!"
You are indeed one sick puppy Troll-----You can fantasize all you want about winnng the NFC West-----Ain't gonna happen broh. Save up your pennies for a GPS so you can find the stadium-----(nevermind)-----just look for the banners that say NFC West Champions 2008 and 2009.
We dont need a GPS since we pretty much owned your asses last time we where there your really leasing it from us....so uh pay up for this years rent.
BTW you've let the place go to hell....arizonans everywhere!
So-----you pretty much owned us huh????------I guess that kind of makes you crazy huh? Having to settle for a win over the team that kept you from going to the playoffs for the first time since when?------WOW !!!! when Steve Young was your QB. Are you even old enough to remember that???? That was more than two decades ago. Sorry to dredge up old memories for you, but except for a couple of regular season wins over us, I guess that is all you have to celebrate. I guess that I would be talking a little crazy too if all I had to celebrate was a couple of regular season wins in the last 20 plus years.
So listen-----remember the directions that I gave you to find us. This is where the road to the NFC West runs through. You take care now-----don't be goin' round makin' yourself sick or beating your brains out or anything like that Meanwhile, I'm going to get some sleep and think about now much fun it is to be an Arizona Cardinals Fan, and how crappy it must be to be a forty whiner. Bye.
HEY HEY HEY No bringing up past greats!!!
Thats our job! Only we can swim in the pool of yesteryear and wallow in an era that no longer exsists
And yeah I remember him, he was engaged to my cousin when I was 7, so for a while he was part of the family. (pics to prove it)
Most of us here can REALLY appreciate what you guys are going through right now Troll. We have been there, done that, for soooooo many years. A lot of the members here on this board are old timers, Mitch, Russ Smith, Rugby Muffin, Hell, I am 67, and a Cards fan since they moved from Chicago to St. Louis. Doug, who posts on here is a retired O-lineman from the Rams, Los Angeles Days. (Doug France). We have a lot of knowlegable football minds here, which is why I visit here almost exclusively.
Good that you know someone in your organizations hallowed past personally. That is really neat. I have come to know Doug, since I started posting here, though not in person. Great guy!
As you can see, from where we were, we have come a long way this year through free agency and the draft. A lot of the draft was used to stockpile players for down the road that we won't be able to use this year. Our FO and Staff have done an excellent job since Whizenhunt came here, and we REALLY appreciate them.
Some of the younger guys get a little rambunctious but that is what youngsters do until they learn that they didn't know everything.
Hey----you guys have a great year, and I really look forward to a serious run at us again by you guys. It should be great fun.

Cheers,
Im so sorry I forgot how sensitive that arizona heat makes you guys. How hot is it in arizona right now?
Oh...I forgot the Niners have future HOF'ers at every position.
Did the doctors drop you on your head at birth or did your parents do it on purpose?
Why don't you ask your girl. She was at my house last night. She loves the heat if you know what I mean
I asked her. She said your balls stink.
