After shilling all year for Kyler as being a transcendent, special talent I feel compelled to get a few things off my chest.

It’s entirely probable Kyler has a legit beef with the organization. We’re assuming it’s money related (it probably is) but that doesn’t make it true. There’s plenty of disfunction within this org—and frankly Bidwill always gets a pass, even though issues remain year after year. There’ve been a number of players and coaches who have left for greener pastures (TM, PP and coach BA to name “recent” examples) and many of their complaints have been the same. It’s a complicated issue I won’t get too much into here, but I think we can all agree there’s a chance Kyler has legit beef.

Having said that…

How you handle said beef says a lot. We can argue about his intentions or whether he should even respond, but I believe most rational people acknowledge the fact that, given that he is literally on an e-sports team and grew up “online”, I think it’s fair to assume he knows exactly what he is doing.

Once these matters are simplified (and they’re not complicated), the only question is how much money does Kyler command.

I haven’t had time to post recently but have said to anyone who will listen: his play in the end zone in that game is Mark Sanchez butt fumble level bad. It’s Cam Newton not diving on the football level bad. I have never seen a QB so terrified in my life. Athletes can prepare for big games, but from what he’s said himself he doesn’t study film on that level. You can prepare x’s and o’s but the only way to know if you have the “it” factor to win those games is to play them. That fear and level of panic don’t just leave a person through film study or lifting weights. Have any of you, ever, even one time, seen a QB that terrified who then went on to win a SB? In the history of this league, surely there must be one time, right? My guess is no. Football isn’t built that way.

If this is a money issue, it’s because he crapped his pants in the biggest game of his life and realizes he better get paid now rather than later. And I know it’s considered “uncouth” to discuss his diminutive size, but let’s be honest, it matters. It’s not just being unable to see over linemen at times, it’s the fact that he can’t take even half the hits a 6’5 250 lb QB can take. This creates a concern let’s call it in his mind that other QB’s may not have. It’s simple physics.

I don’t know how much money Kyler deserves, but after his performance in that last game I wouldn’t give in to his childish (extreme passive aggressiveness) gameplaying.

The hitting really starts the last month or so of the season, that’s when the finesse football of KK and Kyler fall apart.

yeah... that quote aged poorly.

much like the majority of what Keim does/says.
Keim hurts Kliff who hurts Kyler who hurts the fanbase

Somethings gotta give o_O
That quote from Keim is hilarious. Maybe he should hang his hat on Kyler for draft day, because he seems to be a lot better at identifying talent than Keim.

Kyler wanted CeeDee Lamb and Creed Humphrey. Those would be cornerstone pieces for our team for the next 10+ years.

Instead we got Isaiah Simmons, who was benched for an undrafted guy in our playoff game (I like Isaiah but you can't draft experimental inside linebacker at pick 8), and we took Rondale Moore over Creed. Not to mention the guards Kyler was lobbying for who were neglected in favor of Zaven Collins. Yeah, I think I'd rather have Kyler as GM than Keim.
I agree about Creed, but I do think Kyler liked Rondale. Keim probably doesnt trust himself in terms of drafting. He'd rather trade every pick for a vet if he could. I like Hudson but he'll be 33 next year. Hopefully he can play a few more years at a decent level. Funny how the Chiefs got 3 really solid Olineman in two years (Niang, Creed, Trey Smith) and we're still hanging our hopes on Josh Jones.

can we also just acknowledge how much AWFUL press the Cards have gotten in the last couple months?

They totally face-planted at the end of the season and were called frauds.

Then, they had a humiliating playoff loss.

Then, there was the story about a big blowout amongst the GM, Owner, Coach.

Then, there was the story floated about not paying playoff bonuses.

Then, they were named in a lawsuit about leaguewide Racism.

And, now there's this media ish-storm around Kyler.

And through ALL of that, we've literally heard nary a peep from anyone at the Owner's level or GM or Coach... about any of the above.

That's an ugly 6 weeks of media.

Patrick Peterson was extended after year 3. Myles Garrett signed an extension. Christian McCaffrey

What are you even talking about? Just because you don't know it doesn't mean that it didn't happen. Do a little research, bro.

Talking QBs obviously

Maybe. I get a little of the immaturity vibe too. I hope he overcomes it and stays with the Cardinals for his whole career. But I'll chose the Big Red over Murray if I have too. Just like Mayfield. The second Murray goes to another NFL team, he'll become the enemy. At best a curiosity.

But let's just see how the next 12 months play out.
The Cardinals don't really have an option, and realistically, neither does Kyler Murray.

I think it's a crazy argument to make that Murray didn't play like dog crap down the stretch. If Murray plays better, I would bet my entire military retirement that the Cardinals would have won 2-3 more games if Murray played better. The Colts game, 2nd Rams game, and Seahawks game were games that if Murray plays better, there is an easy argument the Cardinals win.

I think the pattern we are seeing is that Murray fades down the stretch. Once he gets tired of the long season, his lack of preparation causes bigger issues when his body isn't as fresh.

At what point do people realize how silly this is. Why does Kyler have to deny reports that are complete speculation and conjecture? He hasn't said a thing about his contract or wanting to be traded or anything else.

he deleted all but 2 pics, we have no idea why, why does he have to come out and explain it to stop the media and fans from making up stuff?

I hope it's not a big deal but at this point I'm going to wait and see what happens, I don't see the point of blasting Kyler for not denying complete speculation.

The idea some people are still clinging to that this is nothing and Kyler isn't saying anything because he "doesn't need to address false stories" is ridiculous.

If anything false stories that are damaging your reputation demand being addressed more, not less.

If people still think this is a big nothing burger after Kyler's silence, his agent "no comment" and Kirk's quote I'm not sure what to tell you.

This is real and intentional.

Very ironic that you would accuse me of not being here to discuss facts when you are laying out nothing but false overgeneralizations.

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

Maybe start here, watch Kyler Murray play some football. Does Kyler fall down and give up every time he is pressured? Does he run into a sack every time? The things you are saying happen are not the norm, they do happen from time to time, and Burrow makes plays that are just as bad (more often, since he took 20 more sacks).

Negative aspects - Kyler needs to improve his poise, he plays too quickly at times, especially when things are going poorly.
#1: Can't view this at work
#2: There's a lot to unpack in his need to "improve his poise." This is no simple thing for him.

You don't think the alleged QBOTF for a team (any team) should address national speculation about what he did to his social media account which has resulted in all sorts of articles and sports talking heads discussing potential trade partners, possible dissatisfaction with the team's lack of contract talks, etc.? Staying quiet is a better approach at this point? Come on, man ?!

The Joe Burrow fanfic is hilarious. He had one of the most loaded CFB rosters of all time, his GM drafted his top college WR (Hello Steve Keim), he's beat a couple bad teams in the playoffs (the Raiders suck and he beat them with a touchdown that should have been nullified by a bad whistle, the Titans are mediocre, his defense picked Tannehil 3 times, and the Kyler-lead Cardinals smoked them). He beat the Chiefs after getting blown out of the first half because Patrick Mahomes turned in the worst half of football in NFL history. The fact of the matter is Joe Burrow has spent his college and NFL career playing for teams who are more talented than their opponents across the board, while Kyler has had the complete opposite. You want to talk about CFB playoffs, every football fan in existence knows that Oklahoma can't compete with Alabama in talent. They lost to a better team. And everybody in here knows that AZ was completely overmatched, talent and coaching wise, by LA in the playoff game. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison.

Kyler wouldn't beat the Raiders with a loaded roster? Lol.

A loaded roster? Their roster is no better than ours.

The problem is he has no right to an extension and nor has he yet earned one. He simply has not been good enough when it matters.

So pulling a stunt like this looks arrogant, childish and petulant.

Completely overmatched? The same team that we split with during the regular season? Outscored 60-50 if you look at the PF-PA. That team? The one we lost to by just a touchdown a month earlier - without DHop or JJ Watt? The same team that was up 17-3 at the half a week earlier only to collapse and lose to the 49ers at home? That team was suddenly unbeatable and so much better than us? That's why we looked unprepared and put up a whopping 11 points in the game? Oh, okay.

And Kyler wasnt. Whats your point?
Always an excuse. Poor Murray. Of course, it seemed like the Cards organization wanted to miss the playoffs by sticking with an unimpressive Murray. Any decent backup QB would have gotten us into the playoffs that season. But instead, Kliff rolled out Streveler. SMH.

With Hopkins hurt and Conner hurt, yes, absolutely. We had no reveiver who could get open and no running back who could gain a yard. We started the game trying to run Chase Edmunds to the middle. Further demonstration of Kliff's complete inability to adjust his offense to the personnel. He had no game plan to cover up for our injuries, and Kyler was hung out to dry against a crazy pass rush.

if Kyler came out today and said there's nothing to this don't worry about it, would people stop?

Remember when the rumor was Chandler had Covid really bad and wasn't coming back anytime soon and then he went on Twitter and said something about don't believe what you read, and everyone said well of course he's not going to admit it?

We don't know the truth, we have no idea what's going on. I'm assuming he knows, his agent knows, and the Cards by now know. It's probably contract related.

If Murray is saying trade me or I'm out yes I'm furious, if he's saying give me a massive new deal or I'm out I'm not happy. But essentially what's happening now is people trashing a guy who hasn't said a thing and literally last week was showing up in pics at the pro bowl with his "brothers" talking about bonding.

Maybe he's trying to leverage the Cards to do something that he thinks helps the team, like he wants us to keep Kirk, or he wants to be heard more on draft picks etc. I'm not in favor of letting Kyler run the draft mind you but I do think we would have been a better team for taking Lamb or Wirfs, who were all apparently guys Kyler told Keim he was interested in us picking. Maybe Kyler is saying look I want to see some actual plan here, whether you're picking for offense or picking for defense I want someone to spell out for me what the plan is.

So far since we got him all we've done is acquire D Hop and Ertz, great player and nice pickup but we haven't drafted a WR or OL high since we picked him. We've gone defense and so far those picks were not instant impact guys.

Kyler is friends with Russell Wilson and other NFL QB's, maybe he's been told over and over don't let them do to you what they did to me, tell them you want input.

But I don't think bad mouthing him when we don't even know what's going on is going to solve anything.

If Murray needs everything around him to be perfect he's not a very good QB is he?

All your excuses are shifting the blame to the O line, coach, WRs etc. Good quarterbacks find ways to win on the field.

But those QBs would come out prepared for a playoff game.

Kinsley goes on to note:

Loss of Hopkins was huge. Hopefully he stays healthy next year. Still think about adding another guy outside if one slips in the draft.

Ok this is from a couple years ago ;0

I think he wants to be paid now cause its not like Keim is hitting it out of the park with his other draft picks.

Keim self own ages well.

You could bet that, but it’s 100% conjecture. What we DO know is what has actually happened. One QB has been incredibly clutch in big moments his entire career. One has not. Those are facts.
And facts are the offensive roster is completely different. That is a fact. What could be an opinion, but is OBVIOUS to anyone with any football IQ at all - Cinci has FAR better weapons than AZ.
