Tom Clements is where at today? Either way Kliff by himself isnt enough. Yet thats how he's going about it. Kliff would really show me something if he reached out to Bienemy if he leaves the Chiefs. However, pride might be tough to overcome for not just the QB but the coach "I'd rather retire before not calling plays"

“I would retire,” Kingsbury said. “It’s part of the game, I couldn’t just sit there and watch it. A lot of people are great at that, managing games, and that’s not my strong suit. My strong suit is calling it and interacting with the quarterback. I’ve got to play to my strengths.”

So if he's off or the QB is off we're screwed.
The former is being a HC, and the latter is being an OC. KK just admitted himself that his strong suit is being an OC, rather than a HC.

1. The locker room issues with Kyler have been there since day 1. He's an introvert and has a tendency for bad body language when things are going south. Fitz hates/hated him. DHop isn't a huge fan of his personality either. It's an issue that needs to be worked on which goes into #2...

2. Kyler listens to his Dad on all things quarterback and has since HS with the exception of when he played for Riley. Murray's team quickly realized Sumlin was a joke and think the same about Kliff and Keim and for good reason. Lincoln had the track record and OU has the infrastructure and foundation to keep guys focused and team-first.

3. Kyler's issues are solely between the ears and he needs strong leadership above him in order to buy in like he got at OU. If he doesn't have that strong and respected voice then he goes back to what got him to where he is which is his physical talent and his dad's coaching/advice. Nobody is ready Day 1 to lead an NFL franchise physically and mentally especially a historical inept one like the Cardinals to the promised land. It's a process of culture-building that needs to be developed by those above the players and from the players themselves. It's moronic for a front office chock full of unprofessional boneheads to expect the player(s) to solely be the guys setting culture.

The fact that people are willing to happily throw this kid under the bus in favor of Keim and Kliff is the epitome of stupidity. Keim and Kliff are widely laughed at in NFL circles and if fired would never sniff another NFL job. Half the league would trade for Kyler in a heartbeat.

Kliff was favorite for coach of the year with about 6 games left. Keim was being touted as exec of the year at the half way point.

We were 10-2 going into the Rams game with Colt McCoy having had 2 great road wins without Nuk.

Then Kyler dropped off in every aspect and we finished 1-4. Or 1-5 if you count the playoffs.

Are you suggesting Kliff, Keim and the whole Cards organisation suddenly became trash which effected Kyler? Or could it be the simplest answer? That Kyler was poor and caved when the pressure was on.

His passer rating was over 30 points worse in the last 5 games than it was in the previous 9.

Also how is Kyler an introvert? We've all watched 3 years of Flight Plan. We've seen videos on socials. That's not an introvert.

It was Dan Bickley that reported the half time girlfriend calls by the way.

Well you super simplified it to fit your narrative. More things happening than just Kyler playing poorly, Oline was continuously in shambles, Conner missed some time no chase most of the time and receivers doing zero didn’t help things either, but yeah it was all Kyler geesh

I have four kids in their twenties. This is exactly the type of thing they do. "This job makes me sad! I QUIT!"
You want your kids working in jobs that make them sad?

Maybe our youth is a little less masochistic than previous generations... ;)

All other teams had similar issues. It's the QBs job to find a way.

If he can only win when everything is perfect and he has his favorite receiver then he's not worth much is he? How many teams have perfect?

Lmao why do you keep going full hyperbolic mode about needing everything around him to be perfect to succeed?

Look Kyler didn’t play well down the stretch but their were many factors. I’m done with this back and forth nonsense. The coaching and roster issues had just as much of not more to do with how this season ended than one individual player that when had SOME protection and weapons was in the MVP convo. Yes things spiraled and injuries and lack of depth really killed us. More than anything I believe the coaching staff killed us, poor schemes and game plans down the stretch did our players no favors! Stop ******* drafting LBs if your not gonna play em. This team needs a better coaching staff to go anywhere IMO.

“Hey Josh, go win without your favorite WR, Stefon”

“Hey Joe, go win without your favorite WR, Ja’Marr”

“Hey Pat, go win without your favorite WR, Tyreek”

“Hey Matthew, go win without your favorite WR, Cooper”

“If you can’t win with him, QB, you’re not worth much”

What a hilarious statement.

Because that's literally what people here keep saying.

Nuk was out
The O line was bad
It was Kliff
It was the defense
The WRs couldn't separate

McCoy missed a whole bunch of players in his 3 games including Kyler Obvs but still pulled off 2 good wins in 3.

Or maybe Kyler was just poor? The same happened at the end of last year. He's lost in every prime time game he's played except Seahawks at home last year. In his only two big college games he lost the red river and Orange Bowl games.

Maybe Kyler just wasn't good when we needed him to be?

Keim is already a two-time Executive of the Year, I think. That doesn't mean much to me. Matt Nagy has an NFL Coach of the Year award on his mantlepiece. Doesn't mean anything.

My personal opinion is that Mao overstates how over-their-heads Keim and Kliff are, although I don't doubt at all that the Big Red Braintrust is laughed at by the brightest minds around the NFL.

I never watched Flight Plan, but just watching the commercials he's done where he's never once been allowed to speak makes me think he has a charisma definiciency that comes out across the board. Doesn't mean he can't play QB, but it likely means that he struggles to connect and express himself in a way that come across very naturally.

I mean, all those guys have managed to not look like Jered Goff when their favorite targets were out of the lineup.

Stafford won the Super Bowl without Robert Woods!

What a hilarious statement.

Mahomes is 4 - 1 without Tyreek.

Rodgers is 10 - 1 without Adams

Diggs, Jamarr and Kupp have never missed a game so who can say?

But I can tell you Colt McCoy is 2-1 without Nuk and Kyler is 1-5.

No they’re not. You’re clearly putting words into their mouths. Everybody here has eyes. Stop insulting our intelligence.

Kyler can & was bad, & yet, this can still be true, which it was. See how easy that was?

McCoy missed a whole bunch of players in his 3 games including Kyler Obvs but still pulled off 2 good wins in 3.
Backup wins games in league. Shocked.

Or maybe Kyler was just poor? The same happened at the end of last year.
He was. Obviously & clearly. Nobody is denying. We can also talk about our lack of depth(which has been a problem since Arians-era). However, it’s just a 1 man army to you.

Kyler was s***. Majority of the other players & coaches were s*** too.

I wasn't replying to everyone. I was replying to the Kyler can do no wrong crowd.

Josh Allen was heading towards bust territory before the Stefon trade. He very much was looking like Goff. Burrow had a pretty meh rookie year before Ja’Marr. He pretty much was as well.

I don’t think Robert Woods is Cooper Kupp though.

Mao: i know you have credible insight into the Cards org -- but help me (to the extent you can) understand where you learned of the stuff outside the Cards in 2? Thx

I think i would put #3 this way: K1 came in as the face of the franchise, and Kliff -- he was the guy lucky to have a HC gig. That is a power imbalance in the worst way -- especially true when the player needs some tough love. So Kliff either doesn't feel empowered to deliver tough messages, or, Murray chooses to ignore them.

all this sheds some light on bringing in AJ Green and Colt McCoy -- a source of peer feedback

Finally, I think the Cardinal historic ineptness as a factor is really overrated. The Mike B reign is what counts, and he has at least gotten to "average NFL franchise" level -- with a SB trip, playoff wins, etc in the last 15 years (the memory span of current NFL players). The Bengals for goodness sake with the same owner of the last forever were just in the SB, and their track record is far, far worse.

No, he wasn't. But that was just part of the story. Win as a team, lose as a team.
