Man... we really need something else to talk about. No one is saying anything here they haven’t said twenty times already in this thread.

Free Agency is still three weeks away? Yeesh.
They flat-out said on Cards Underground that we shouldn’t expect to hear anything from Keim or Kliff until the Combine and after.

Maybe people hoping Keim is on the chopping block will get their wish.

Isn’t the combine after the start of FA?

Also, it’s really nuts that there have literally been ZERO changes in the face of back to back epic season collapses. Even if they weren’t going to fire anyone, you’d think maybe a Jim Caldwell type move would be made, if for no other reason than to send a message that the last two years weren’t acceptable and they were at least trying to look for solutions.

Does anyone have a replay of that play from different angles because watching the game live, it was apparent to me that Kirk had no chance to catch that pass.

I was watching Kirk get behind the defense and right when Kyler wound up I started thinking this could be huge and then the ball was short and landed right in the space between Kirk and Moore(I think), put in the only place neither of them could get it.
When I was watching the game, I saw him let up, or at least it sure looked that way, because he had I believe two defenders which he beat and they were moving compared to him and ran through till the play was over while Kirk was trotting... but I refuse to check, won't watch any element of that game again lol

We need to simply do some massive revisionist history on the Cards and brainwash ourselves into thinking we're winners :raccoon:

I think the combine is next week—it’s before the start of the new league year and where all the unofficial tampering begins ahead of the official tampering period.

With Keim and Kliff on the hot seat, it’s hard to imagine a legitimate voice coming in as an assistant when it’s likely to be a one- or two-year deal. I’m sure Caldwell would rather play golf or whatever.

I don’t know how Keim(well, I do, cause he’s terrible) doesn’t at least look at his back-to-back first round ILBs who got benched in playoff games or barely got PT throughout the season & maybe think that “Hmmm, maybe I need to find a better ILB coach than Bill Davis”.

If nothing else they just need fresh ideas on the offensive side.

You have Kliff then... Nobody.

If things aren't firing on all cylinders who does Kliff turn to for help? Jefferson? Kugler? Whipple?

None of them have the chops to run an offense or see a way through a problem.

The sad part is that this is actually possible

Simmons at safety is a scarier thought than ILB. I think if you’re taking a shot in the dark it should be EDGE. I really don’t know what to think about Zaven at this point. At least Vance trusted Simmons a little bit his rookie year.

Zaven at least looks the part. I saw WRs knocking Simmons back. Just hope last year was more about the jump in competition for Zaven and not lack of instincts/smarts.

I still don’t know where you put Simmons. Just so flawed as a player at especially the wrong spots.

Do Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson determine first round picks? Keim stinks but that is silly.
To be fair all 3 either left or want to leave their current situations because how their teams drafted ;)

Kyler shouldnt be making picks. However, it should have been clear that the importance should be placed on Kliff and Kyler. Go all in on building up that side of the ball to find out how good they really are.

Glad to see that we aren't the only fan base with crazy QB haters
It's like you have your fingers in your ears, your eyes closed, and you're shouting, "La la la, I can't hear no KM criticisms, la la la!" You can't admit he has one teensy thing to improve on his game. Simply amazing.

Real question: Would you rather have KM or Tom Brady start a playoff game right now?

Some folks have this weird Zaven love/Simmons hate. Since when did Zaven "look the part?" Right or wrong, he barely played, and barely flashed. Do you just mean his body type makes him look the part? Because his play hasn't yet. WRs knocking Simmons back? Hyperbole much?

Simmons is never going to be an EDGE. Apart from being 15-20lbs undersized he has zero pass rush skills. And for me his frame is already maxed out.

I've always argued he's a strong safety. Being that little further back from the ball means he can see where the play is going and use his speed to close it down. Removing that gap responsibility or man cover responsibility from him frees him up to use in a number of different ways.

I really don't understand what happened with Collins. One thing I can tell you will absolutely certainty is that rookie Collins played far better than rookie Simmons through their early games. I just don't get why his snaps tailed off while Simmons increased in his rookie season.

The only thing I can think of is that it was because we were actually challenging for the division this year and Vance didn't want to risk blowing it with rookie mistakes. But we were in the playoff hunt in Simmons rookie season and it didn't stop him them. Just weird.

I actually thought we drafted Zaven to convert to OLB. He's made for that position. 257lb that runs 4.65 and can drop into coverage is everything you want physically in a 3-4 OLB. Just got to teach him the techniques.

But now they already said they want him at ILB I really don't want to dick him around again like various other rookies before him.
