Leinart looked bad tonight.
Leinart looked bad tonight.
Are you friggin kidding me? He came into the game when our offense was struggling, he struggled as well at first, but I thought he pulled it together nicely. He looked bad if you discount his TD drive to start the 2nd half, but over all he wasn't bad at all. His 2nd drive was cut short on a bad call, Fitz was down with possession of that ball, it should have been a 1st down.
7/11 62 Yards, 1 TD, no Int. That's pretty good in a preseason game. He didn't look bad at all.
Warner didn't look like a superstar either.Who's "friggin kidding" who? This guys is supposed to be the future of this franchise, He's in his 3rd year. He hasn't shown many flashes at all and sorta, kinda, maybe looked OK? He "struggled" "looked bad" and over all "wasn't bad". Now there's a vote of confidence if I've ever seen one. This team needs to win, not make a starter out of Leinart. If Warner can win, then he's the guy we need in there. Period.

#1./ NO key starters/back-ups go out w/season-ending injuries.
#2./ WIN at least (2) games to get a taste of winning.
#3./ Build cohesion & unity thru-out the team & the organization.
#4./ FIND a "diamond in the rough" ...Or maybe (3) or (4).
#5./ Do enough to give the fans reason to be optimstic about the up-coming year.
#6./ Keep the BEST (53) players.
#7./BE READY WEEK #1.
I agree. It's pre-season but isn't Leinart's passer rating something like 115 in those 2 games? Man, he's been terrible. You can hear it now, everytime we don't score or Leinart throws an incomplete pass, you'll have some fans clamoring for Warner. Two years ago, it was "get Leinart into the game and let him develop". Now that he's, let's sit him for WarnerFYI - I know not everything can be told by QB rating and that BOTH QB's has blunders that won't show up in the box score.
But this is the final numbers for all the Warner Zealots:
(and by the way im REAL excited for the board meltdown to come when Warner inevitablly outplays Leinart in one of these last two preseason games)
Elsewhere in the division, Arizona's Matt Leinart completed 7 of 11 passes for 62 yards, one touchdown and a 108.9 passer rating against the Chiefs. Kurt Warner started for the Cardinals, completing 6 of 9 passes for 54 yards with an 82.6 rating.
Justify your post. Did Warner look good tonight?
I am tired of the favoritism. I would listen to either side if it was objective. I guess I will have to wait to see the game and base my opinion on that.
This crackin' down on one QB and buffing up another is ridiculous.
I will say it again, let the best QB start.
But don't give me this "we know what we have in Warner" cr@p. Yeah, we know what we have in Warner. I guy that is has had a half of a good year in the last eight. So lets try to put to rest our short term memories and start looking at the whole picture. If I remember Leinart replaced Warner initially because Warner was KILLING our team week after week.
Just be careful what some of you wish for. You just might get Warner and the percentages of recent history would be against you. He come in fumbling and throwing mindless interception, this "know what you have" nonsense goes out the window.
Let the best QB win......period.

Jeezz. Does anyone who knows how to read understand what the word "if" means? How in the world can the posting be interpreted as picking a side or boosting Warner. I said "if he can win". Far too many people on this board want Leinart to be the starter just so he's the starter. I made the point seeing him in that position is not the goal of this team. Winning football games is. Leinart has yet to show the promise that he did in college or that justified his lofty draft position. Looking "OK" is not the goal. Better a veteran with all the baggage he carries, and there's a lot, if it gives us a better chance to make the playoffs. Isn't that what we all want? Having Leinart "win" the job because "it's time" is nuts. I agree with you, and said nothing to the contrarey. Start whoever helps us win, even if they change them every set of downs. After 50 years of following this team, I just want them to suceed for a change.
