As a Suns fan, I'm now rooting for the Warriors to come up and take the eighth seed. The Mavs for some reason are awful against the Warriors (I believe 1-3 against them this season), and wouldn't it be great if they would get knocked out in the first round of the playoffs after getting so hyped by the media?

I was thinking the same thing. I know I sound crazy but I would want to go through SA, Dallas and Miami or Detroit. I'll say it now but if we get to the finals the last team I would want to see would be Chicago.

The Warriors are coached by Nelson.............who used to be the coach of the Mavs. He apparently knows how to beat them!

Try 0-4 in their last 4 meetings against GS. That would be great if they had to play them in the 1st round. They would probably still win but it would probably be a dog fight like we had against the Lakers last year.

I don't think the Warriors could prove to be a real threat to Dallas in the playoffs.

Does anybody remember how the media was starting to talk about the Suns having to play the Grizzlies in 2005? I think we were 2-2 or even 1-3 in the regular season.

In the playoffs, however, it was Suns 4, Grizzlies 0.

I hope that we end up playing Miami in the finals. We'd run circles around them. Detroit would be a little more difficult.

I can't really believe the Mavs have so much trouble with GS, but it COULD be a matchup issue.

I haven't really looked to see how well the Mavs do against up tempo teams. Obviously nobody has bothered them lately, but the Mavs are heavily dependent on big, slow players so it is POSSIBLE that running teams can cause them trouble and GS does run.

You have to remember the team that beat them last night is NOT the same team they've played in the past, the big trade and all. I really think Nelson knows their team, and I think their players probably are a bit psyched out by playing against him.

In a series my money would be on Dallas, but it would be cool to see given how well the Warriors play them.

Warriors in the playoffs?
Can you dig it?

/Russ Smith.

RunTMC baby.

My problem is I became a Warrior fan in 1975, little did I know that winning the title that year would be the only time they'd win it.

I think people are giving the Warriors way too much credit. I think they are 2-0 against Dallas this year, with the first game coming during the Mavs 0-4 start, which doesn't really prove much, blow-out or not. I really don't think the Warriors stand a chance against the Mavs in the first round. In fact, I think a sweep is more likely. Dallas has too much playoff experience by now.

Dallas sucks so bad. Their whole season is nothing now that they've lost their first game in 18. Losers.

I don't know if the Clippers (current #8 seed) are going to challenge Dallas more than GS would.

Evidently intelligence is not at a premium with these trolls. I think Hoopy Felldownalot is reading something not posted here.

who, exactly, is saying the mavs suck? if anything, this thread is a compliment to the mavs. we're saying that the mavs are so tough, any edge (like having golden state play them in round one) is welcome. way to overreact, hoopy defensivealot.

I think a mavs g.s. would be interesting. there is some history with those teams. Nellie, dampier, avery, ect. after the loss yesterday.....i'm hoping a mavs/warriors matchup is in the works. I still think the mavs would lose no more than one game in that series. golden state has scored a lot of points against dallas.

I'm really hoping that Phoenix plays the Nuggets. The way to stop us is to slow us down. Teams that try to run with us are just setting themselves up for disaster. Plus AI never really does much against PHX either.

oh.....i have little doubt who would win that series. I just don't think it would be great for dallas or phoenix to lose in the first round.

I think the Clippers, Nuggets, and Hornets are all still more worthy of a playoff spot and two of them will get them and those two will have the honor of being crushed by the Suns and Mavs. I'm thinking PHX will play Denver and the Mavs will play NOK (wild guess, plus I like watching Paul play).

Warriors would give us a bigger challenge since they seemingly have our number, but in a seven game series you'd be crazy not to bet on the Mavs winning. Avery would take the time to find a way to beat them, they just aren't significant enough to worry about in the season I guess. Still, 0-4 should really wake them up about this team.

I still think that Dalls will beat GS, but GS will definitely offer them a bigger challenge than the Clips, Hornets, Nuggets, etc. I could see the Warriors making it a six or seven game series.

I wouldn't be surprised if a GS/Dallas series went 7 games, but I would be extremely surprised if the Mavs didn't beat the Warriors eventually. They are just too good, and they will have home court advantage. The odds are so against the Warriors in a series against Dallas, ESPECIALLY a 7-game series.
