I'll go with the "warm corpse" who's seen it all in year one over a snot nose 20-year old.
Why?

You don't redshirt top 10 linemen. Or1st round linemen come to think of it. The last 1st rounder I can find that sat out a year was....DJ Humphries.
You realise that All Pro is like the top 3% in the league right? You worded this as if it's All Pro then everyone else is equal.
Tyron Smith wasn't All Pro this year.
What you need is "a unit of 5 who communicate effectively and do their jobs. Who also have talent and don't spend half their careers on IR".
If you just needed any old bunch of 5 on the O line that knew what each other were doing then teams wouldn't be paying tackles $18m a year.
The "do your jobs" part of your very basic explanation requires you to have sufficient talent to stop the best pass rushers. Which, you know, requires drafting good players. Not some guy thats been on 6 teams in 4 years and another thats played 12 games in 3 years.
Under the new CBA you have to dress 8 on game day. He'll be there as backup.
If we draft a RT top 10 then someone is getting cut and the rookie is starting at RT. No if's, no but's.
If not then they realized in camp they picked wrong.
IIRC - Thomas corrected it (that was the only time they beat him on that move that game)
If you don't like that aspect...you won't like Wirfs at all (see video below where Penn St exploited that over and over again).

Thomas is the best left tackle in this class and everyone is overthinking him
Even of we draft at OT, we wouldnt cut Gilbert. He is a really good pro. You dont want to have to play a rookie at OT, even if they are a top 8 pick.I am thinking Marcus Gilbert signing was a smokescreen/back-up plan. He can be cut for 150k dead money...that is nothing.
We don't get an OT...he is a great back-up plan to compete with Murray. If we do, Murray is a solid swing tackle that is cost controlled for 2 years.

I think they probably cut Gilbert if do draft a OT.
Why keep an old guy over Justin Murray who demonstrated that he can be at least a decent backup?
No. He played on a great OL with a quick passing game.
He is tackle #4 on most scouts boards for a reason.
Ah.. such certainty!
Thanks, coach.
The reason why he possibly sits and learns is that "experience" at this level matters.
But Thomas has slow feet!!!! hahahaInteresting stats from combine...
First one is Thomas and 2nd is Wirfs.

We will get one of these guys at 8.... or as far back as 11. Trading back only makes sense if those first 4 are gone. The other 5 are top of their position, but all are mild luxuries IMO
Or cause Alaric, unlike Wirfs, can only play 1 side while being a liability at the other.I put Becton ahead of Wirfs.
Becton has elite size and used it in college to dominate people
Wirfs has elite athleticism but didn't use it to dominate people
They both have technique issues that need to be resolved but Wirfs had better coaching.
I have seen Becton play LT and RT.
Wirfs has only played RT and couldn't beat out Alaric Jackson even though they both started playing at the same time (2017) and played for three years together. Usually, you put your best OT on the left side. Except for Wills, who was protecting a left handed QB.
I think Becton's upside is much larger and bust potential is about the same/to slightly smaller. You can't teach size and athleticism.
It's easy to be certain based on history. Nobody drafts a tackle top 10 and sits them a year. Nobody drafts any player top 10 then sits them a year.
You draft a guy top 10, he's starting game 1.
