I know this has been touched upon in a couple of threads already, but I've been a fan since '63' so I think I've earned a moment of crazy. It's seemed to me that over the last few games, the play-calling has been less and less spectacular. Sure, we've beaten the crap out of some teams but still, it feels like we've been more and more conservative as the season waned.

I'm sure no one on the staff was looking for a beatdown like this, but I wonder if it meant as much to them as they let on. It just seems out of character for an Arians-led team to be this over-matched and out-coached. Feel free to correct me where you think I'm wrong...just a hunch.

Definitely have been vanilla lately. Most teams like to unveil new wrinkles for the playoffs.

I have been seeing the same thing and mentioned such to the ol'lady last week. This game in particular appeared un-planned for.

it takes my mind back to BA's philosophy that teams scout back four weeks........when teams scout us back four weeks they will see.....nothing like what our offense was mid season.........and I am guessing, nothing like what our offense will be for the next month either.
we have been playing zone defenses...which we normally just do not do....we have been running tight and limited blitzes,...rarely going balls out jailhouse blitz like we are known to do...although we did swarm GB a few times................. my guess is that todays main focus was to allow CP to get the 74 yards or whatever it was that he needed for the franchise passing record,...get a couple other players a few stats ...and get away without any major injuries.

I hope so, but I don't think they wanted to be blown out like this. This was something I believe didn't want. He wanted it to be at least close, but not a dumpster fire of a game.

Going back to my earlier post, this is just like the GB game of what, 2009? The killed the Cards in the last game, then the Cards beat them when it really counted. I hope they play all vanilla to not show their hand. I really hope this kind of play doesn't continue to the playoffs.

BA started coaching right after the game, in the presser...

"Practice was bad all week"

My guess is that practice will be much more focused and spirited over the next couple of weeks

I honestly think the press clippings got to BA to. He was loving the attention he was getting. :)

Maybe. I just want to believe that he's too smart to let that happen. For some reason, I expect the Cards to dominate in the playoffs and BA to have the last word. We'll see.

I have a feeling they will play hard in the playoffs and this game will seem like a thing of the past.

I personally think BA was doing a little rope a dope today. The game against Seattle in three weeks is what he has his eye on.
