I have absolutly no bias and I KNOW my NBA......

The Suns can absolutly win this series and its pretty much a toss up IMO with some slight advantages either way. But everyone immediatly discounting the Suns is naive. I will say it again. It's all about matchups

We can beat:

Heat
Mavs

We cant beat:

Pistons
Spurs

and i believe everyone on the Suns believes they can win this too which i wouldnt say was the case if we played SA. Don't listen to the propaganda guys in the "know". I am telling you Suns fan, it is not myopia, despite what people in basketball will tell you. You have to watch this team on a day to day basis to appreicate. They aint world beaters, but the can beat the Mavs. I see no sceanrio in which Dallas beats us in less than 6 and would bet if they do, it takes 7.......

But we will see....I know this team and i know the Mavs......its going to be fun.....

I agree. If it's Spurs, then I say we are done. Clippers gave us huge problem because of their size (mainly Brand's dominance) and how bad we played (Nash's health and our inability to secure the board sometimes).

Mavs, as great as they are, we CAN match them. There is nobody on that team that can post up us and demand double team ALL THE TIME like Brand did. Yes, Dirk can go inside but he does not have great post up game.

The only thing that is against us in this series is that we don't have the home court. We have to steal it the way Mavs stole Spurs'.

Agreed. Now that SA is out - who was their biggest nemesis - you know their confidence is up a bit. These extra few days off for the Suns may prove mighty beneficial. The longer the series can go the better chances the Suns have.

Suns take this series. Whatever the number of games - 5, 6 or 7.

Ok, my prediction. Suns in 6. Yes that's right. If it goes to 7--we lose.

My reasoning.

The Suns are the best shooting team in the league by far, and shooting is way underrated in the playoffs.

The Mavs have to win playing the Suns style, or a style which they don't play well. Either way, its a bad choice for the Mavs.

The Mavs don't have an answer for LB. Yes LB. He will be a huge factor.

We will have KT available, although he's not nearly the factor he would have been if we were playing the Spurs.

The Mavs play D, but not as good D as the Clips. They will not slow down Nash.

Marion gives Dirk fits.

DAntoni is a better coach and Avery.

The Mavs don't have anyone that gets "superstar" treatment from the refs--like Kobe did. The games will be much more evenly called.

Jason Terry is a great talent, but has a tendency to make bone-headed plays. Nash will take advantage of this.

Diaw and TT are not at a disadvantage to Diop or Dampier (unlike the situation with Brand).

I think the x-factor is Diaw. He has had great games against Mavs. Nobody can really guard Diaw unless Diaw beats himself with his "passive" mode.

Barbosa is also great.

I'll watch game 1 to see how much Devin Harris has improved since his injury. He's had some great games in that Spurs series.

Diaw was intimidated by Brand and to a lesser extent by Kaman and became hesitant a couple games while at the same time Nash was limping around.

Barbosa was also intimidated by Brand. The problem was more severe than usual as we couldn't hit enough outside shots to spread the defense.

There will be no Brand in this series against Mavs. We'll let LB and Diaw handle the ball a lot more to keep Nash fresh enough to hit the open jumpers to say the least, to keep the defense honest. It will be a hard fought series as Dallas is a strong and deep team. But we are confident too.

Ever since the Laker series, I think every series is going to take it to game 7. This team is probably the most inconsistent of all the elite teams. We can play like UNSTOPPABLE in game 1 and game 7 and play like the worst playoff team in game 2 (in both LA series). This is the price you pay for being a jump shooting team. When our shots don't go in, we are done. We are short and we need all the energy we can generate to battle for rebounds. This takes a lot of energy and we just don't have it in every game.

What I am worried about is that we don't have game 7 home court. I hope we show up tonight and realize that we have to steal one.

This is no doubt going to be the Suns toughest matchup of the playoffs but I think it all comes down to how well Marion can guard Dirk this series that is the key. Also i'm really intrested if Nash can keep up his great performance he had against the clippers in game 7. Heres hoping the Suns win series and if they dont its been a awsome year eaither way GO SUNS
