Best of a bad situation I suppose.

The only way out of this (lack of talent at LT) conundrum is to draft raw talent late and then develop it; except RG so far hasn't been the OT Whisperer we thought he'd be - Keith was supposed to be the poster boy for that strategy only the light switch never totally clicked on for him.

Still - I think developing from within is the best way to go considering the circumstances.

Levi could still be the stop gap over there, until something else develops. Maybe they also posed that to him. Eventually settling in at RT.

He probobly got RT starters $$, I'm guessing.

We shall see.

All seem to presuppose that Levi is being brought back to play right tackle.

We'll see....

if they sign bell they will target ingram, kirkpatrick, kuelhy, floyd, kendall wright..or they trade down and select stephen hill ,perry or mercilus

Kirkpatrick has gobs of talent....but a first round gamble. They'd have to be really sure he's dedicated. To get busted right when he needs to make an impression....not good.

Barron on the other hand is solid in every way, great character person.

Why in the world would we want to bring back a player that no other team in the NFL has shown any interest in as a free agent? A guy rated as the worst Left Tackle in the league?

Lack of options? Reduced salary? Hard worker? Never injured? Because he'll play RT instead of LT?

I'm glad he's coming back. I think he's been a professional his whole career. If we can get him at a reduced salary, playing the other side, I'm all for it.

I sometimes wonder, were he not our #1 pick, had we not chosen him over AP, how much people would hate his guts. I can't even remember the last time fans hated a guy as much as Levi.

You weren't here in 2006? Levi Brown is Leonard Davis. It's my favorite line.

"I can't believe the Cards let Leonard Davis go and passed on Adrian Peterson to draft............Leonard Davis." :D

Well that makes sense because that's how we got him in the first place.

After reading all the posts in the string, I'm OK with this move, especially if Levi moves back to right tackle and Bell is signed to a reasonable deal to play on the left side.

I'm still betting he'll be LT, much to the dismay of many...

That's what I'm afraid of, too. But, at this point I'd rather still have him on the team than not. We don't seem to have a lot of options.

But, here's to hoping he starts at RT, we get a solid starter at LT and draft DeCastro.

I been here since they moved here man. I sat on metal bleachers in the hot sun and moved up for better seats (in the hot sun) when everyone left. I even liked them when they were still in St. Louis. I've said that before, shouldn't have to keep repeating it. I like Levi Brown dude. I don't think he's great, he's not all-pro, but he isn't as bad as you guys make him out to be either. And on the right side instead of LT, he will own ****'s.

I'm okay with the re-signing of Levi Brown to a more reasonable salary structure. What I'm hoping this does, if the Cardinals fill their basic needs along the offensive line, is allow them to go BPA at #13. Someone may fall in the draft. I do not want the Cardinals reaching in the draft.

Two days after they released him, the Cardinals reached agreement with offensive tackle Levi Brown on a cap-friendlier, five-year deal.

First, how do you know other teams didn't show any interest?

Second, who says he was even taking phone calls from other teams? When he was released for cap reasons he and the Cards could have already been very close to a deal so why even go through the free agent process. Considering he was only released two days ago that is the most likely explanation.

Dude could only bring it for a contract fortnight in his contract year. I really hope we didn't pay him a ton or hamstring ourselves with this contract.
