Anyone else interested in this? The previews look pretty good. Since there are no other new shows (maybe Chicago Code) that are piquing my interest I really hope this is good, at least until March when AMC debuts their next show.

I can't wait until this is on. Love boxing movies...can't wait to see a show based on a boxer.

Lights Out

It was on last night. Washed up good guy boxer story with family and a new life making tough moral choices because of his family and finances. Sounds blah blah but it wasn't that bad, looked like it was starting to pick up after the story line and characters got established. They should have gone with a 2 hr opener, it was over fast (good sign) but I don't know if I'm hooked.

I have it on the DVR but haven't watched it .... all the reviews I'm reading say that the first 3-4 episodes are basically character introductions and setting the landscape - but it supposedly takes off from there

I'm liking it so far. I get a Sopranos vibe from it--slice of life type of stuff. It's also New Jersey, so that might have something to do with it.

Enjoying it, but after the pilot, I havent seen anything except obvious plot lines developing and stereotypes. Hope they can break out of the mold a little bit.

So far so good, you can kind of already see where the show is heading, but I am enjoying the show.

The dude is really digging a hole for himself right now...

Another good show last night, good writing, good twists, and I am starting to like the main character more and more. I give this show...5 beers. (out of a six pack)

Last night's episode is the best one yet. It really set up the story for the rest of this season. Hopefully they can build on this episode for the rest of the season because I like where it is headed.

So, does anyone else think that fight was fixed? Another solid hour and this could be a very intriguing path they go down.

I have a suspicion because right before the round you see the beast make eye contact with that Brendan dude in the audience and they give eachother a seemingly subtle nod.

Ed Romeo. What else can you say? Awesome character who is being brought into a show that is slowly building into something special. On the fight fixing front, I believe even more that it was fixed. They way Johnny went to his sister and then they went to their father? Something is up and they aren't spilling the beans.

this show is starting to bore me to tears. the obstacles they're throwing his way, especially at the end of the last episode with the accidental stabbing was just beyond stupid.

I can see that. They've decided to make Johnny so unlikable that now it's transferring to Lights, who was easily the stupidest his character has been in the show. For the first time, Death Row Reynolds was the more likable guy between the two.

this started as a promising show but has quickly become laughably bad. There's really NO ONE likable in this thing, especially Lights. hell, I'm rooting for Death Row to kick his ass at the end of the season to give Lights what he's due. He's been **** to his wife, he's gone back on his promises to the laughably bad trainer brought in after Stacey Keach either tested poorly or they didn't have the money to pay him for every episode and he's demanding a re-match as if the guy owes him something... after retiring from the game for five years. And then, after backing away from Brennan for the entire episode, after Lights gets what he wants which is word that Death Row WON'T fight mustafa and things look like they're working out... HE GOES TO BRENNAN? sorry... the show makes very little sense... i mean... who the hell is training lights during this episode? no one?

seriously, the only upstanding character in this thing is seemingly Death Row.

I disagree with you on most of this. First off all I think Lights is too loyal. He doesn't want to give up on his brother which has caused him all this grief. He didn't want to give up on his dad but he gave up on him. Also you should know that all the supporting actors don't show up for every episode.

These last two episodes have been the best yet and it is clearly building up to a very good ending. All that said I think Death Row will win. No way they can have all this crap happen to Lights without it coming back to haunt him.

I know they don't show up in very episode... i work for a TV show... doesn't mean they couldn't find better ways to write them off... besides, Stacey Keach is a top of show... the way he's been written out of it is just weird.

How was it weird? He didn't want to train his kid anymore because he was afraid he would get hurt and ended up taking a vacation? It is a moot point anyways since he is back.
