Yeah ok,

So acting defeated and laughing joking etc are the only correct responses?

Staying positive and upbeat, trying to rally the troops and inspire confidence would be totally the wrong move?
Seems like a non issue right now. This is a rookie that was playing his very first game and he showed some frustration with his early struggles. I also don't consider showing some frustration as "acting defeated". If he was away from everyone else with his head down and a towel over his head I might be concerned, but that isn't what happened.

-Kylers second-half play. It would have been too easy to let his 1st half play get in his head and derail this young man's confidence, but he weathered the storm and had a phenomenal 2nd half. I'd like to see my running plays from him like old-school Michael Vick; it will keep the defense honest.
-Special teams game was fantastic, Trent Sherfield is a beast. Zane Gonzalez has been solid all through the pre-season and didn't miss any FG's today.
-The run defense was pretty stout
-Suggs showed he can still play at his age; it's fantastic I played against him when he played for Hamilton, he was a running back believe it or not.
- Larry the legend, what else is new
- David Johnson had a silently overall good game
- The offensive line was pretty decent, Detroit has an excellent interior line
- Byron Murphy was great, loved this pick.

Dislikes:
- Pass defense, seemed like they had too many wide-open receivers. Once PP and Alford get back, this should help (PP damn knucklehead)
- Goal-line play where we had to settle for an FG, I understand this is how the air raid lines up in goal line, spread out the defenders, but why not just be safe and pound the rock here.
- Kylers first-half play was brutal, but he is a rookie, and it's his first NFL game, he settled in
- Batted balls need to get fixed; opposing teams are going to look to exploit this.

My problem with the goalline plays were as Schlereth said don't be cute, don't have 7 linemen in the game and then run a trick play wide with the QB, just hand the ball to DJ and let him plow it in.

He thought the play clock was going to run out and maybe Stafford didn’t notice. Stafford notice this the small tirade of “trust me!”.

Yeah you could read his lips on the sideline screaming trust me.

I will disagree with every poster on this it seems. Kingsbury called pretty much the same routes and the same game from start to finish with the exceptions being that there was more movement/motion/misdirection early than late. The early offense was derailed by Murray who was terrible for 70% of the game.

That was my take too I think Murray just wasn't comfortable and we were unable to get anything going because of that. Once he got a few plays hit, maybe softer zone maybe just a few plays that worked, he seemed to settle in.

Also hats off to Brett Hundley, I know he's not a starter that got benched for Murray but he did exactly what you want a young veteran backup QB to do, sit next to Murray, talk him through things, keep his head up and help him. Subtle thing and I was never a huge Hundley fan at UCLA but it would be easy there to want to play and be glad the starter was struggling but Hundley didn't do that, he helped his teammate.

Actually, Murray the RT got beat on the play, and Sweezy was coming in to make the block on his man, which he successfully did in an earlier play.

Kyler actually had room to run to the other side on that play.

I was actually impressed with Sweezy awareness on that play. If you want to be pissed at anyone for that, it should be Murray the RT.
I like you. Good posting

Went back on game pass when home from the game last night and assessed the same things.

Not sure what the point of debating it really is?

Thoughts on the short & not 6’3 CB Byron Murphy?
My thoughts are if crow is better with cranberry glaze or brown gravy.

But, I will save the meal for another few weeks.

Murphy looks bigger thsn his measurements & looks pretty damn good so far

Interesting as I had the same observation. Seemed like pouting to me. Also thought I saw him ignore Fitz when Fitz put out a hand to be slapped in congrats on the sideline. Maybe he didn't see him but his demeanor was bothering me for some reason.

What's the point if this board if I can't state my disagreement with your post? You can feel free to hold a different opinion than me, but don't get up in arms when I simply state that I don't agree and why...

On more than one occasion, the TV showed K2 talking/sitting with K1. Don't know what they talked about, but thought that was a lot better than a lot of yelling that some coaches are known for or do.
