I like the new logo. Reminds me of what the Cardinals did a few years ago as mentioned before.

Like the logo, don't care for the font.
The font change is more significant than the logo change. The logo revision is simply an update to the existing logo, adding in more detail.

Whereas the font is changing to a more contemporary look and getting rid of the old style "circus" influence.

Lion fan's can only hope that it helps to remove any vestiges of the circus behavior from the front office! :p

Oh, in that case I'll change my response to: "Like the logo, don't care for the font."

:)

I will take under seven wins. Winner picks the losers avatar for a month.

I can actually afford to lose that bet. You're on.
Can I take part in this bet? The best the Lions will do is 6-10 and that's only if they get a QB such as Cutler or McNabb and they make other smart moves (in the draft). It's going to take more than one offseason to fix their problems.

Like Miami? I don't think they'll be a playoff team in '09 but they'll be much better than last year. Much better than 2 wins.

New uniforms worked for the Buccs, worked for us, so it may work for the Lions. Also:

New uniform and helmets. Look better than the old, I'll give them that.

You should remove that pic right now, unless you want NFL lawyers knocking on your door.

Seriously.

The new logo is fine, although I want the black out of their uniforms entirely, so that outline is not promising. The new font is okay, but I'll definitely miss the old font. I still muss the Suns' western font, and will for all eternity unless they bring it back.

Like the logo, don't care for the font.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Hopefully this will give the fans something to smile about. It must suck to have your team go 0 for. I was seriously rooting for them to win that last game.

So far, I've:
liked the Jets changing back to their white helmets

disliked the Chargers "modernizing" away from their Fouts era stuff(which was already a change from their original uniforms--figure it out already San Diego)

liked the Bengals switch to stripes instead of text but disliked the recent tinkering

liked Buffalo switching from white to red helmets but hated the rugby style jersey later on.

didn't like the Falcons switching from red to black helmets.

liked the switch New England made from white to silver and the new logo.

hated the Broncos big change but have grown used to it. This isn't to say that I liked the old uniforms but the new one's didn't work for me.

loved the Buccaneers switch to pewter and dark orange. The Popsicle orange has it's place in NFL history but nothing to be taken seriously.

liked the Rams change to darker blue and gold from royal blue and yellow but hated the redesigned uniforms. The horns on the shoulders and stripes down the leg were very much to my liking.

liked the Cardinals new red jerseys hate the white rugby one's

Anyone else have thoughts on uniform changes throughout the league and through the years? This list is off the top of my head so I'm sure I'm forgetting quite a few and it's only since 1980 when I first started watching football. One thing I noticed while compiling this list (NE, Rams, TB, Buffalo for example) is the movement toward muted colors. So many of the old uniforms had bright, primary type colors that really had nice contrast. So much of the new stuff isn't like that. The Rams are a great example of this. The blue and yellow used to "pop". It looked horrible on the merchandising but the actual uniforms were a sight to see. The new stuff is the exact opposite. The gold(which is very muted for some reason) and dark blue just become a wash and don't stand out nearly as well. I am thankful that the league(so far) hasn't allowed them to change their helmet logo. I'm willing to bet that if they had had their way the Rams would have changed the helmet logo to the ram head that is in a "v" shape like New England's Patriot head.

It truly must be bad. They're not alone since Tampa also went "0 for" but they were an expansion team during a very different time in the way the league was set up.

Matt Millen. Pretty good player(who I couldn't stand). One of the worst GM/Presidents ever. He should get a job with the Clippers.

You know it's the NFL doldrums when the Lions logo change generates this much discussion.

Re: Matt Millen - Upon the news of Millen being fired a friend that is a Lions fan remarked, "It doesn't matter if they don't win a game all year, it's a winning season to me." That's how bad Millen was...

That was proably the biggest transformation of them all. And the best.

The Diamondbacks was a good one too. Sedona Red.

Same exact color that the Buccaneers use...moklerman just incorrectly referred to it as "dark orange".

:D
