as an Eagles fan I agree

The ONLY way I trade Lito is to get a true game changing WR - dealing from strength to improve a weakness.

Otherwise, Lito is too valuable to deal for draft picks. You need 3 starting caliber corners in this league, particuarly when your pass rush not particularly strong. Plus, Lito is fantastic with the football in his hands. If he loses snaps because of the Asante signing, he can field punts and also be worked into an offensive package.

Kent Somers' article on the trade rumor with Philly stated the Cards front office was not interested in trading one star who wanted a huge contract for another disgruntled star unhappy with his contract.

Arguing over the relative worth of Fitz or Shepherd is an exercise in futility. The market will set their worths, if it comes to that.

We may very well trade Fitz. My guess is it won't be to Philly.

What other franchises seem to have a desire to trade for Fitz?

Both cap and need? Bucs and Titans.

Those are two teams (along with the Eagles) who could make a deal and have a reason to make a deal, but has there been even just rumors of interest, the way there has been about the Eagles.

Honestly I don't think any team really wants to give up a huge amount to land a WR, even one of the best in the game (I can't explain the Eagles). QB, LT, DL, CB those positions I can see teams going crazy over but, I can't even remember the last time I've seen a team make a major trade to acquire a WR. Moss (2X), TO, those guys were both traded for far less than what you would have thought fair value actually was.

IF, Fitz and Sheppard were going to be involved in a trade,i think it would be contingent on BOTH teams being able to work out contract extensions. That's the main reason it probably won't happen. If it could be done, i would probably accept Lito and a number 1 because, when you think about it, a "true" #1 CB, probably has more value than a superstar WR.
