Did anyone hear them mention Mr. B? At all?

His name wasn't listed in the people who worked on this. Just Michael.

Mr. B is just gettin too old for this stuff I think... I just saw him at a charity event and he's not getting around very well these days. I doubt very much if he's highly involved in negotiations anymore. They probably just keep him posted. Atleast I hope that's whats happening, the old guy doesn't need the stress.

Someone asked him if the Cards would look at CBs to replace DRC. He said "I thought we drafted one?" in a nice and cocky way. He also said we have a lot of young guys that will have the opportunity to step up this year.

Awesome.

did anyone expect anything different? Rookies, third year guys who looked awful last year and undrafted FA back-ups are manning two of the most important positions in football... again.

He hasn't done more than sign checks since Michael got ground broken on the new stadium.

I wouldnt label him a "cocky" but he does have a swag about him. He is a very proper guy when it comes to the media but there are times when the "Coach" side comes out in him and we see little glimpses of what HEAD COACH Ken Whiz is like behind closed doors.

This is my take. Whiz has sort of a dry sense of humor.

Also I think, as noted in the interview, a lot of research goes into the decisions Graves and Whiz make based upon facts. Fans may not know all the factors that are involved. Most of us can only speculate.

Good, I was hoping to hear some inspiring talk about our young CB talent, like Mike Adams and those two UDFAs from last year.

I do. Whis was just being Whis. By the time week 1 comes there will be a Veteran CB on the lineup. It's not going to be Aso, I just laughed when someone suggested that. There's no chance we'd spend that on him.

I'm guessing we'll get a mid level or veteran past his prime type of guy to mentor PP but yes, I agree with you and JG, it will probably be a position of weakness unless Toler makes strides and PP is a stud right out of the gate.

I'm not saying any of that is a good thing, it's just what is gonna happen.:D

It was more than cocky. It seemed aggressive.

I like Whiz. I just thought the way he answered that question was just a dare to anyone to press further on the issue. The question is a valid one. Yeah, Whiz, we did just draft one. But then you let one go, so yesterday we had two starters and today we have one. Are you going to pursue a FA CB?

I felt the same way. Perhaps we are looking at it from a differenct perspective than other people.

My opinion. Glad I could make you laugh.

I should have said from the beginnnig that I TOTALLY get how you guys could feel that way. Maybe I am just wired socially the same way Whis is. I get that he could come off snarky and arrogant. I just think the press has it coming sometimes and personally I kindof expect our coach to be a jerk sometimes.

I know that there are former players who dont speak highly of Whis but there are also former players that do.

Different strokes for different folks. I just took it differently. Maybe I'm a jerk too? It was Jerkspeak!

A complete and utter jerk, if you ask me! :p

If it had been an off-the-wall question, then, yeah, I could see him getting bent. But this was a legitimate question and a concern of many of the fans. He should have expected that it was coming.

But, hey, I'm over it. Just glad I'm not running those news conferences. Next topic. :)

I am with you Jersey Girl. After last season, there is no call for any condescension from Whisenhunt

The Whis: "He'll be able to pick up a good deal of our system relatively quickly."

What system?!?!?!

"The Pass Like Your Hair is On Fire" system is really simple to learn. :(
That is why he should be able to learn a good deal of Whiz's systerm quickly.

Awesome.

I think it is a smoke screen. Bet we are still after a CB and now that SFran is in the Joeseph converation maybe he wants to keep it down.

Maybe because I'm used to guys like him but Whiz's comment didn't bother me. I always thought that in the service he'd have his Master Jump Wings. Swagger. Attitude. Whatever. Somebody has to jump out of airplanes. He's that type, IMO.

But he has to back it up. Which means win games or the "swagger" label turns into "jerk".
