Just went to DTV about 3 months ago. Love the red button when watching baseball. DTV is much better than Cox Cable wished I had changed years ago. I guess I need to call and see if they will give NFL ticket. Live in Phoenix so will see all Card games anyhow but would like to follow the Chiefs.

should have waited three months would have got it for free.

Don't talk to the front line CSR, they can't do anything. You need to get to retention. They are the ones who can make all the deals. When you call, say cancel, then it will send you to retention. When you get the real person, don't even bring up you said cancel.

All you need to do is tell them you saw a commercial that said ST was included in DTV packages now and you would like to get the same deal. If not, can they do something similar.

Thanks. Just knocked off $250 on my ST!!!

What's bad about Dish? It's the same content, better interface and cheaper.

Switched to Dish last year based on price because my Directv bill spun out of control. After about a one month learning curve fell in love with the interface. Interface is faster. DVR is A LOT faster. Programming is better for me (Fox Soccer in HD standard). NFL Red Zone and the sports pack is only $7 extra. Will never go back to Directv although I live in AZ so the Sunday Ticket is meaningless for me anyway.

Just got my DTV installed today! so pumped to have it back...

It was interesting. I was talking to the instal guy and was telling him about the deal i got to come back and the deals you guys were getting and he said "yeah.. I hate to say it, but those guy actually cancel the service and come back get really great deals, but even if you threaten you usually come away with something, but the crazy thing is you could call 5 times and you will get 5 different quotes for discounts because everyone on the phone is a salesman, and has a quota, EVERY ONE..."

Thought that was interesting...

Looking to buy Sunday Ticket online only to see Cardinal games. I just want the online section. I think you need to be out of AZ so I can see the games through Sunday Ticket online. I am sick and fed up with Directv. I am willing to pay $125 through paypal for the season. I think it costs a extra $30 to add the option. It could pay for a few months of your programming. Also a lot of people got it added for free with a new 2 year agreement. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I'm having trouble making sense of this. I thought Sunday Ticket online was MUCH more expensive than this and that it was only available to Directv subscribers and to those that can not receive Directv? Have they changed their offer or are you talking about something else?

Steve

Edit: Never mind, I just figured out what you're talking about. I pass no judgement but I don't engage in activities of this nature so it took my little brain a few extra minutes to realize what you were after. I think I'll go with NFL Rewind myself - it seems to be the best non-Directv approach for those of us that still want to see the games.

They just took off $15 a month for 24 months if I stayed with the auto pay system. Very nice.

That's what I do since the Game Pass that English on Tour has isn't available in the US. My complaint about NFL Rewind is that it is more difficult to stop the action. I really miss the days of being able to watch plays in slo-mo or frame by frame to research something we're discussing on ASFN try to focus on line play for example.

Beat watching the Lifetime Channel with my wife. :p

I have DTV, but have never purchased ST because I am a Cards season ticket holder. I figure on home game weeks I am missing around half of the early games and all of the afternoon games, so half of the season I wouldn't even get to see a complete set of games. I'd be 99% focused on the Cards during their slot during away weeks, which is on network TV anyway. The fiance and I have gone to sports bars and grabbed a bite to eat before home games, and done the same for maybe 1/2 - 3/4 of the away weeks. We're probably going to try to cut way back on the sports bars this year because of a slight change in our finances and trying to get healthier.

So, question for season ticket holders -- if you have Sunday Ticket, do you find it is worth the money, or do you find you miss too much of the action to make it worth the investment?

I've kept the Ticket even with season tickets. The first couple years I took a dish, receiver and TV and watched games while we tailgated. This year, I think I'm going to try to use a laptop or Ipad. For me, it's still worthwhile, especially on weeks we're on the road.

This will be my first year with NFL rewind. I'm a little disappointed that you can't do slo-mo and frame by frame as that's a tool I've been hooked on for 15 years now. Still, the game is the main thing and I'll take it however I can get it.

Another NFL Rewind question:

When can you watch the games? Is it hours or days after the final whistle blows?

My understanding is they become available following the end of the Sunday Night Game. I think they also become unavailable during MNF but I'm not positive.

Hmm. I might look into that. Looks like they have some coaches-film angles.

Just went through what's new for 2011 and they are going to offer the Coach's Film that people always talk about. That will be awesome.

Just finished my call with DTV for the annual game of cancel chicken. I've had the ticket for 4 years now and this year they offered me a $20 discount off the ticket for 6 months, $20 off my base rate for 6 months and waived my HD charge of $10 for 6 months for a total of $300 in credits meaning I only pay $73 for ST plus the to go mobile deal. Pretty happy with that. Anyone on the fence about renewing should definately call in and speak to retention sounds like they have some great deals this year. I didn't even have to try that hard. Looking forward to another season of Cards football!

$13.99/month for 6 months.

$84 for Sunday NFL ticket this season. :D

I had some other issues with them, so I'm not sure if they felt guilty, but I got a smoking deal
