Well, this has officially taken on the Whiz/Max Hall, De-Wreck Anderson debacle flavor...
I'm assuming the 9ers will be one angry group of beasts... This could smells like another beat-down in the making. Back to Back maulings at the hands of our bitter divisional rivals would suck at anytime of the of year, but heading into the post season makes it all the more painful.

Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians: Logan Thomas will start at QB against 49ers

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Monday that Logan Thomas will start his first career NFL game Sunday at the San Francisco 49ers, but he won't hesitate to make a change if the rookie doesn't perform well.

Why did he hesitate last night? lol

Arians said LT has a short leash. Yet, he let Blindley air it out 41
times.

I think BA/SK wants to see what they have in Thomas. He has been on the team all season and they need to see if he has made any progress. They will have to decide on either keeping and developing him or drafting another qb.

I think he didn't want to throw him out there with out having any practice down with the first team all week. I think it may be a smart move not putting him out there until he had a full week of practice with the first string.

Well SF doesn't have anything to play for. They've been knocked out of the playoffs, and their HC will surely be canned at the end of the season. If anything, they would probably want us to get that #1 seed over the Seahawks. Not that they would just give us the game next week, but I sure hope they do.

be careful what you wish for..

What i saw in lindley last night was reminisent to what was seen out of stanton in his last couple of games.

Overthrows, under throws, behind guys , in front of guys , out of bounds, two big throws (although one ended up being out of bounds and pi), and not being able to punch it in the red zone.

BA didn't start logan cuz he isn't ready... Logan is the first qb that he has talked about with doubt saying he is going to put a leash on him.

Thomas if you take away that miracle touchdown has 8 horrible throws under his belt and zero completions.. THIS is gonna get ugly. I get ryan was bad last night but it can get worse and probably will.

ps. not a lot of pressure on ryan last night other than two sacks before things got ugly in the fourth he stayed upright . In the denver game thomas was on his back and under pressure most of his time in the game. Niners will send the house, I'm calling at least one safety.

Don't know if it will be a case of drafting another quarterback if Thomas isn't anything more than a guy with prototypical size. This may be more about Stanton's future as the back up to Palmer.

That's what I thought after they announced he would start next week.

It could be a matter of trying to keep his confidence in tact. By saying he doesn't think he's ready yet it creates kind of a loop hole if he performs badly. If he was singing his praises and saying he was ready to go and he performed badly than it could hurt his confidence.

Well, we have to go all out to win this game, because the reward is huge if Seattle suddenly sticks it's head up it's rear.

But, starting QB really doesn't matter much now. Thomas, Lindley, are both pretty hopeless. Debating which one of them should start is like arguing which three-legged Shetland pony has the best chance at winning the Kentucky Derby.

I believe that the Cards believe he is the QBOTF. Otherwise why the hell draft him 3 rounds to early?

Poor Arians. Playing Thomas this season is the absolute last thing he wanted to do bc he knows better than anybody that the guy isn't ready, but he has no choice. Lindley is an absolute disaster and he's praying that Thomas can do better, which he probably can't. BA and Keim really screwed the pooch on this one. We should have signed Rex Grossman as soon as Palmer went down bc Stanton is injury prone. Can't believe we brought Lindley back.

I love the idea of playing Logan Thomas. Keim will then know he needs to bring in two new QB's next year.

Agreed...you get to see if he's made any improvement which is all you are looking for in a project qb and you aren't in a position where the alternative player gives you a better chance to win.

If the Sunday night defense shows up the point is moot; we need to see that TNF D this weekend.

Can't wait - he either looks like a tolerable rookie with potential or just plain terrible. If he actually looks good, this board will be nuts over the off-season.

The only thing that I hope for from Thomas is to see some progress. He has had the year so far to learn the playbook and learn from Palmer who to study. If he looks lost, I'm guessing he may not be in the long term plans. He may get baited into some bad throws, and make some bad reads...that happens. But, I really want him to progress through his reads and get the ball out of his hands with certainty. Natural for any inexperienced QB to struggle with nuance.
