While Graves does seem to move slow... I haven't really seen a flurry of activities around the league as well from teams that had much more time than Cards.

I'd venture to say that not many other teams have 25 free agents (UFA/RFA/ERFA) needed to be signed.

Let's not forget Whisenhunt, The guy takes the Cardinals to the Superbowl in his 2nd year as a head coach, he should have had an extension presented to him right after the Superbowl. Be proactive as a team and reward those that got you there, That also includes Kurt, Anquan, Karlos, Darnell and Antonio.....

Darren Urban blogged today that the Cards may allow Kurt Warner to go ahead and test free agency since he seems to be evaluating his worth on the high side. swd should love that.

Darren says, in the end, they'll make a deal. For me, I don't care. Neither if nor how much.

I'll be shocked if we re-sign/extend even two of them.

Dockett has 2-3 years left on his deal. Go to the back of the line.

Kurt will sign with us if he plays at all.

Q is a question. My money says he will stay after all is said and done and get his deal.

Smith I would love to see him stay. But he will be offered a huge deal and we have two kids who are ready to play.

Dansby is playing for us next year one way or the other. I think we will do a 5 year deal with him before the dust settles.

As far as Rod being a snail. These deals take time. He has alot on his table, stars of the team and the meat of the team. The last two years he has done very well. I have faith in him to do what it takes. That being said he will lose some battles. Every tream does.

If if this was any other top 1/2 of the league team most of these issues would already have been handled. Graves has a history of this and it costs more money the longer he waits. Thats the problem.

Yeah, it's a little worrisome. Other teams have at least managed to get the long-term deals done with franchised players. I realize the dynamic of the Warner negotiations may not make a quick deal possible, but unless we don't want any of our other players back...well, then we need to REALLY get cracking. The time is NOW. When you allow a player to hit the FA market, their chances of coming back are slim. If we want to keep any of our current crop of pending FAs, our FO REALLY needs to step up the pace.

I did a little research to see how we compare with other teams on the verge of free agency. I found this info very comforting: http://www.kffl.com/static/nfl/features/freeagents/fa.php?option=By%20Team&y=2009

Some teams have fewer UFAs, some have more. The Cardinals only stand out in our eyes. Note: ERFAs have no negotiating rights and don't concern me. Our RFAs are Pope and Watson and we retain the right to match any offer. (I think Watson is a must)
