So will whatever team drafts Lonzo be required per contract to draft the other two? Of course, any team could screw with the Lakers by drafting (in the second) one of them :)

What do you guys think it takes to move up to #2 and draft Ball? I think #4, 2018 Miami pick, and absorbing Deng or Mozgov's contract would probably be the minimum it would take.

Yep but I'm not sure it's worth the cost. We'd be really helping the lakers a lit with that trade.

So, you would be ok with paying 54 Million for Deng or 48 Million for Mozgov over the next three years? I'm not!
If you want Ball just add another asset. Maybe, put Warren into the deal. Warren, 2018 Pick and the #4 pick would be plenty to get their attention! I would not take on a bad contract like those two!

Maybe we can send Knight away with the deal. Magic was a fan of his in the past.

I think if LA is willing to trade the #2, they would want our 2018 pick and not Miami's. If it's unprotected it's too steep IMO. I say top 5-7 protection and if it falls within protection they get the Miami pick and a 2nd or something. That way we don't have a pick owed to them hanging over us for years.

From what it sounds like the Lakers don't want Ball they want Fultz. I think Ball might slip to us anyway

I wouldn't necessarily have an objection to taking Ball. I don't really believe he will be a game changer for the Suns, but he COULD turn out to be an above average PG and would allow us to move Bledsoe for more assets.

My issue with Ball is that ultimately I see a lot more possibility for it to end up as a net negative for the Suns in the long run: the likelihood that either he is a big fat bust... OR if he does turn out to be an elite level player, he bolts for LA (under prompting from his limelight seeking father).

Ultimately, I see a grave possibility that selecting Ball leads to just another layer of disappointment and misery for us Sund fans.

I'd draft Ball if he fell to the Suns, however, that tweet was clearly orchestrated around Ball to be funny.

Ball is somewhat of a ball dominant PG and I don't see that as a good fit next to George.

Especially considering their plan is to keep Russel too.

So you basically have 3 players who need heavy ball dominant in the starting lineup itself in Russel, George and Ball.

That said, I still expect them to pick Ball.

Ball is a pass-first PG. Touches will not be an issue with him and PG. Every decent PG is ball-dominant- it's the nature of the position. Steve Nash was extremely ball-dominant. It's only an issue when they are ball-stoppers, run isolation offense, and can't make plays.

Yeah and Ball actually isn't considered "ball dominant" he's more of a ball mover. He understands flow and sees the game a few moves in advance. He's actually exactly what most players want to play alongside.

Lakers Draft Rumors: L.A. Won’t Guarantee Lonzo Ball They Will Select Him
The Los Angeles Lakers are hard at work preparing for June 22nd’s NBA Draft. With both the second and 28th overall pick, Los Angeles will have an opportunity to add at least two young prospects to their roster. After missing the playoffs for four straight seasons, most are pinning their hopes on the second pick becoming a star, with Lonzo Ball, Josh Jackson, and De’Aaron Fox being the most likely prospects to wind up being selected.

Of the three, Ball appears to be the favorite. The UCLA product has campaigned heavily to wind up in purple and gold, and most draft experts see him as the second-best player in the draft behind Washington’s Markelle Fultz. To some outsiders, the selection of Ball would appear to be a no-brainer, but according to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Los Angeles has declined to guarantee Ball that he will be their pick

I don't think Ball is "ball dominant." Quite the opposite. He averaged 7+ assists/game and opened up the offense for pretty much everyone.
