The Seahawks have the injury bug again and the Rams are still the Rams, that leaves one team to possibly take away the crown: the 49ers. Look at their schedule:

There are three teams that had a losing record last season by the time we meet them again on Monday. The Packers, Seahawks, and Jaguars. Neither of those teams are exactly pushovers.

The question: do you think the 49ers have the talent to keep up?

On defense they definitely have the talent and the coaching to keep it up. They say defense wins campionships but I really think their offense will be their achilles hill.

The 49er D is decent but I do not believe their secondary can come close to stopping us when we are healthy. Warner could not have played much worse than when we played SF. I do not think 9ers will be better than 8-8.

You got to hand it to Singletary for what he has done with what looks to me like a lot of lesser players and they are in AWESOME SHAPE to begin with due to the toughest offseason training of ANY NFL team in the league.

I think that was the key to having this team already gelled so early in the season. They even have'nt sniffed thier first round draft pick from the top 10 and probably won't this year.Yet they just kept on plowing.

The seahawks 'D' made Gore look like a wild horse yesterday. After we had him corraled in the running game and he beat us on a lone pass play late in the game wide open and A-Dub nowhere in sight.Unbelievable.

Next week will be a real test for the 9ers as they play the Vikings and we see what they are really made of.I think it will be a VERY CLOSE game too.The vikings don't have anyone scary at wr except the very speedy rookie in Percy Harvin who will one day be great.

Clements for the 9ers is playing at a Pro Bowl level in two games. He put the clamps on Fitzgerald in week one for sure, but if we had had our field stretcher in Breaston I think things would have gone down much different since Breaston had practiced all week up until gametime.I think it threw Warner off quite a bit also not to have him.I know they had to change the game plan without Breaston playing.Long did'nt help at all.

The Niners are 2-0 and 2-0 in the division--my hat's off to them. We'll see how Hasselbeck is feeling, but that's a definitely blow to the Seahawks. I applaud his grittiness, but he just shouldn't have run that ball...

You call 70 yards and a TD putting the clamps down? He had over the top help play from scrimmage.

Clements did not shut Fitz down.

Looking at their schedule it looks fairly tough for them I see 6 or 7 wins and alot of losses. If they even end up 8-8 that would be a good year for them. I just can't see them beating the Bears, Packers, Eagles, Colts, Titans, Cardinals (not again), Seahawks in Seattle, Vikings, shoot I even think Atlanta takes them out. I give them credit they have started well but we were not ready to play and I think they come crashing, CRASHING back to reality!

I really dont think Clements put the clamps on fitz. He was double covered all day and not even lined up on Clements every play. Jump ball in the endzone is a catch if warner has better accuracy... He is good at the line but the guy is not a top 10 corner

The Cards and 49ers schedules (and the Seahawks for that matter) are pretty much identical with the exception of which teams in the NFC East and South they play.

AZ plays Carolina at home and NY Giants on the road
SF plays Atlanta at home and Philly on the road
SEA plays TB at home and Dallas on the road

Between AZ and SF, I would give a slight edge to AZ. It appears that Atlanta is clearly better than Carolina. The Giants are better than Philly, but the edge is marginal.

Seattle gets a break getting to play Tampa.

All in all -- the diff in schedules is pretty marginal.

Yeah the difference is we have the talent to beat anybody if we play well, the Niners and Hawks don't! This division should be ours for the taking period, the only question is will we!

There is no comparison between the talents on both teams. We lost SF game not because of what they did but what we didn't do. Take a look at their stats, there is nothing standing out. Had our offense operated even 50% of how it did against Jags, we could have easily won that game. We will be ok as long as we continue to take care of our business.

49ers will more than likely lose to the Colts and Eagles.
Other than that every game that you listed is winnable game for the 49ers.
Atlanta plays @ SF...where Shaun Hill is 6-0.;)

You must be joking right? The Bears D who just beat the Superbowl champs, what Shaun Hill is going to carve them up, what a joke. Packers, Titans, Vikings? Are you even serious that you think those are winnable games for SF? Wow either your a niner homer or your just smoking something! Why don't you go all out and just say they are going to the Superbowl, those 49ers who have won 2 games!

Again they will be LUCKY to win 6 or 7 games mark it down and we shall revisit at end of the season when the Niners will be watching the Cards in the playoffs while they are at home!

We lost SF game not because of what they did but what we didn't do.
For years this type of thinking from opponent fan bases infuriated Cardinals fans after a cardinals victory.

I think there are very few "accidental" wins in the NFL. The niners earned the win they took from us in week 1. I hope the Cards learn from it and don't let it happen the next time they meet--if they don't respect them, they'll lose again.

It does not mean you don't respect them and don't play hard to get the win... But looking back at the game, that is precisely what is coming out. We did really well on stopping them. But offense did nothing. The OL was absolutely atrocious letting them put consistent pressure on Warner with only four linemen. I'm sorry but 49ers' pass rush is not that great. Warner struggled with sloppy throws, overthrows. The WR ran poor routes and had at least 3-4 easy drops (Lance, Urban, Fitz). We just absolutely sucked on offense and were not ourselves.

It's entirely possible the Cards had problems on offense because of what the Niners were doing on defense.

It's like if a niner fan said, "well, Gore didn't have a great day or they would have blown the cards out." Yeah, he didn't have a great day because the defense shut him down.

I refuse to give into the same type of front-runner fan thinking that pissed me off for so long. It's hypocritical.

Are you Lakers' fan then? I vaguely remember you supporting some other team on this board.
49ers fan I am......But far from a Niner homer, more of a doom and gloomer.
Will the 49ers win the Division? I don't know.
Will the 49ers make the playoffs? I don't know.

Really? The 49ers' defense is better than the defenses we played in playoffs and superbowl? Cards offense is one of top offenses in the league. That cannot be said regarding 49ers defense.

If all that makes you feel better, then by all means have at it... the reality is that the 9ers beat us and had as much if not more to do with that than we did... We were home. Had a huge crowd advantage... and still couldn't solve their defense.
We were out-coached and out-played.
