man, this team is a matchup nightmare for us. Just too big and talented so far. 50 points given up in 18 minutes? That's scary bad.

No doubt, we simply got on our heels tonight and never got rebalanced. We took that run in the 1st Quarter on the chin. We hung in there but we never threatened them after that. Then in the end of the 3rd beginning of the 4th they just put us out of our misery.

Lopez was a bright spot. He looked healthy and made some nice plays. He made some bad plays too, particularly on defense. He missed a switch that gave up a dunk etc, but he's got a game and another days practice, I think he's helping more than he's hurting if he keeps improving.

The Lakers absolutely caught fire shooting and some of the shots were contested as well as we could and they still fell. Its discouraging to play Kobe as a whole team, not just one guy. When you play GREAT Defense for 21 seconds and then Kobe chucks up a garbage shot and it drops or someone doesn't box out Gasol and he tips it in, thats discouraging as a whole unit. They cant let it be though. Kobes going to do that and what you absolutely cannot afford is to give up 2nd and 3rd chance opportunities. There was one play where we played great defense, Odom missed a contested jumper and Kobe got the offensive board in between Lopez/Stoudemire. How does that happen guys? Cmon' man.

Suns need to just blow it off and not put our heads down. This is what good teams do they adjust and come back.

When you think about it the Defending champions just won game one on their court. The goal hasn't changed from 5 hours ago. Win ONE in LA and we are in control of this series.

It was a discouraging loss indeed, but I've not lost hope.

Lakers were on fire. I don't expect them to be able to throw it up wild and it goes in the bucket in every game. We really do need to sneak a win in LA though....

Lopez had the best plus/minus on the Suns (+2). Starting him wasn't the problem. If anything, he may need to play more.

i agree, but i just don't know if he's ready for it.

i also think we need more dragic. haven't seen them run him out there with nash in a while and i think they may need to consider it. he was the most aggressive player on the court.

Lopez on offense is exactly what we envisioned, of great help. On defense, he seems a little slow and communication with teammates not as well. In one scene, Gasol went to screen for Odom on top of key. Best would have been switching with Amare, which is size-wise no problem. Not happened. The red-hot Odom was too quick for Amare, driving for a dunk.

Odom looked like George Gervin last night. It was ridiculous. Amare found himself out of position and his body posture on defense was poor. There was one play in particular where Amare was standing straight up and Odom ran right by him and slashed into the lane.

Suns need to get more physical with these bastards to show they mean business. If the Lakers can do it, why cant we?? I mean the officials are going to call fouls, make them earn them.

Somebody needs to knock Odom on his butt. You can't just let him waltz down the middle of the lane.
