The game plan is so simple a cave man can do it - STOP THE RUN. Just stack the damn box and make Taylor throw. Taylor didn't even get many yards in the air because they were busy ripping us a new one in the running lanes. Just look at their play calls: RUN, SWEEP, QB DELAY, RUN, TD! I would expect some kind of adjustment in the second half but absolutely none. Our vaulted run D a few years ago has wilted away.

My only complaint about the defense tonight is that they went prevent in OT. We should've stayed with what was working all night long & we got extremely lucky they missed that FG.

I was bumping an old thread from just a few weeks ago when many were blaming Bettcher as the team's main problem.. don't see a lot of complaints now.

My only complaint about the defense tonight is that they went prevent in OT. We should've stayed with what was working all night long & we got extremely lucky they missed that FG.

On the long Kearse reception, Bettcher brought 6-7 guys on a blitz and Wilson hit Kearse on a quick slant. Peterson happened to stumble a bit, but the team wasn't in prevent all that often. Additionally, we were getting pressure without sending more than 5 guys. That would be the only time I scratched my head about the defensive play calling. Other than that, Bettcher has had three really good coaching games in a row.

I guess I was thinking of their 1st OT drive where Seattle tied it with a FG. They just kept finding Jimmy Graham on short 5-10 yard passes over & over & marched down the field easily.
