They need to get rid of the lottery. It makes no sense how a 1 seed is now getting the number one pick.

That doesn't make sense, Boston traded for Brooklyn's pick, it's not like it was their own pick that won the lottery. It was the pick of the worst team in the league.

I'm actually OK with this. No temptation to take Ball (don't want to deal with his crazy father). Would be happy with Jackson, Fox, or Tatum.

I like Jackson, Fox, and Tatum, in that order.

Jackson is the best case scenario but not good enough to part with any of our core players to move up a spot or two to guarantee we get him.

Fox seems like he could be a good player who I wouldn't have minded so much if we fell to #5 but I'm not excited about getting him at #4.

I like Tatum but we have Warren and I think keeping both is redundant.

I wouldn't be surprised if Philly traded with Boston or LA, they don't need Jackson. They have Simmons, Saric, and Embiid. Surprised no one has mentioned Saric in their front court considering he was arguably the best rookie in the league after Embiid went down.

It was pitiful but as long as the Lakers don't screw us over by grabbing Jackson, it's not too bad. I expect that if Ball falls to fourth with Jackson and Fox gone then McDonaugh will feel compelled to take him. Of course Philly may pick Ball on similar thinking, then we'd probably take Fox, who was my second choice behind Jackson.
No way Ball falls past Magic! I can tell you he has his pick into the draft right NOW!

Yuma are you having a meltdown?? C'mon dude...hang in there. Keep telling yourself "At least it's not #5" ....like a million times.
Had we stuck at 3 I would have been happy. I really was hoping to see the Lakers slip to 4, not us. If the draft had been Celtics at 1, Philly at 2, Suns at 3 and Lakers at 4, That would have made my night! :)

Yeah the Lakers collecting and passing us up really blows. Hard to sugar coat that.

I cannot face us rebuilding at a point when the Lakers are supposed to suck, only to have them slip by us and dominate the division again. I really think we do have a good nucleus right now. It's all about how these guys develop around Booker.

Here's an interesting stat.

Every western conference team that has a title with the exception of the Kings (Rochester at the time) has had multiple #1 picks during their history and most of those players have lead their team to the championship. The Warriors and Dallas being the exception to that.

Have's and have nots

I know this isn't the best time to bring this up but do we have to tank again next season to make up for this goof?

Heck, order me up another #4 pls cuz that's what's coming anyway....might as well get used to the taste.

Well next draft is supposed to be way better talent than this one. We may have tanked too early!

Our GM has to get some deals going where we can make the playoffs, but still get the first pick like Boston. Or kidnap Lebron and brainwash him into being a Sun.

We won't make the playoffs anyway next year without making some trades

If we stay healthy, I could see a 7 or 8 spot potentially, noting that some teams slide from year to year. Gonna be tough with teams like Utah coming on.

Don't think jackson is going to slip to us bc that's what you're hoping for. That **** never happens.

The Suns will decide that they want Jackson and that they don't think he'll be there, so they'll trade the pick, and then he'll fall to whoever is at #4.

rings are won by outscoring the opponent. see GS
I just remember Lebron winning the Championship last year on supposedly the defensive play of the year. Ask Bill Russell, Hakeem Olajawon, Bill Walton, etc.

I get it, put the ball in the hole more than your opponent you win. However teams like Michael Jordan's, etc. got their key stops to win, too!

I was assuming we would stay in the top threeso Jackson was my lock. However, I am now assuming the draft goes as the top three have been for months. Fultz, Ball, Jackson. Time to study the second tier.

Hey, at least the Suns haven't brought in a moron Russian billionaire owner who trades away a future #1 overall pick for a futile vanity run at buying a championship.

The fun part of the draft is Ainge and Magic will try and game the other. That could be fun to watch.

Or sells to an owner who refuses to sign a key player that may have cost his team a championship.
