Well arguing with the negative Nancy’s of the forum is pointless. He’s the future of the OL plain and simple

How about you actually discuss the points we made instead of calling us names? Are we wrong that he's often injured? Offensive linemen get rolled up ALL the time. Not all end up sidelined repeatedly from it.

And if he's the future, the future looks pretty bleak to me.

I think that’s pretty positive?
if the young guy who has never actually solidified a position and continually misses half the season due to injury is our future for the oline.....there is nothing at all positive about that.
that position strongly indicates that merry-go-round waiver wire lottery is what we have to look forward to. we have already seen that oline here in the desert. we need something else.

negative Nancy is hardly name calling. Not for nothing, but if I was going to try to insult somebody, I think I would call them Cheesebeef...lol...

you make a statement like that and then think YOU aint a negative nancy??

thats rich

What in his post was negative? Hoping he is the future of the OL is a negative post? The only way that would be negative, would be if you're a fan of the other teams.

he didnt "hope" that DJ is the future of the oline... he stated he is.
DJ who has never completed a season,...DJ who has never shown consistency in the nfl...
I actually "hope" our oline has a better future than that.

Often injured in college as well. If he's a building block, prepare for your house to collapse... especially at the most important spot on the line.

Depending on him is the definition of insanity.

So what you are saying is that he has the propensity to have his leg rolled up on by defensive linemen? Like he sticks his leg out there waiting for it. It was a freak accident like the last time. It's not like his body is breaking down like a torn achilles or something. ;)

I'm saying plays like that happen to offensive linemen every game. It's not a freak play when that kind of stuff happens all the time... it's a pattern when you're body isn't strong enough to survive it multiple times.

But maybe we should just depend on him being healthy. That worked wonders depending on John Brown this year.

The team either learns their lesson with guys who perpetually get injured or suffer the consequences.

I'm kinda sick of suffering the consequences, but that's just me.

Jared Veldheer is fully committed for next year currently rehabbing. He enters the final year of his contract.

It would be nice if he could accept a slight pay cut (2 years in a row on IR). But, he played well this year after a slow start adjusting to RT. It did;t help that the coaches gave him no help versus DE DeMarcus Lawrence. No RT in the NFL can shut that guy down one on one.

He gets like a $50k per game active roster bonus as it stands.
