The St. Louis Rams have signed S Justin Lucas (Cardinals), according to StLouisRams.com.

How much longer till Marmie picks up Bell and Tanner to.

I just hope we get reports of Cards players knowing all the defensive calls the Rams are making since Marmie is too dumb to change them.

That is one thing, of many, that irks me about reports we heard last year. The other team knowing our defensive calls and picking up our blitzes everytime. Sad.

I think they were talking about Lucas pushing Wilson for his spot.
Okay why didn't he push him last year?

Lucas seems to be a playmaker. I am sorry to see him go.

That int at the end of the 1st half for a touchdown was beautiful, vs the Giants if my memory serves me right.

Nice stats. I think in his limited playing time he has more int's than Wilson.

Too bad you didn't take the time to line up your stat page to make it readable.

Wilson was going to start over Lucas because of his draft status and "potential". Lucas, when he was in the game, made big plays.

How many sacks or int's has Wilson made? He is big and quick and they do send him on blitzes and he freelanced constantly but never made big plays.

Big hits, yes. Turnovers? Rarely.

Since you've actually decided that fact are necessary in your argument provide a link. Make it easy for the reader to understand your point.

I am going to go look it up myself but I watch every Cards game and am thinking Lucas has more Int's than Wilson and Wilson has like 2 sacks. Plus his rep as a big hitter has caused unnecessary penalties and an ejection last year. Wilson plays every down.

Wilson in my opinion has all the physical tools but lacks focus upstairs. Lucas is never going to be a superstar Safety but I liked him as a Nickle back.

Wilson was a bonus baby with vast "potential" and no head. Lucas just showed up and made HUGE plays. He will play for a while in this league.

Your stat comparison is unfair as the first two years in the league Lucas sat on the practice squad. Wilson has played the majority or most of the plays. I suppose if Wilson's 60 snaps compares to Lucas' 15-20 a game is comparison.

Lucas made plays and assuming what I hear of Green his defense will need a cone cover safety who makes thos big plays when the offense makes mistakes from pressure. More times than not Wilson has not made those plays. I'll take a Sammy knight over a Tebuckey Jones anyday. Opportunistic Safeties are what I'd like to see.

Again, read my post. Stats are decieving given their playing time
The guy had 2 ints in 5 years no forced fumbles and 3 recovered fumbles in 5 years. 5 years. No sacks. That is not a playmaker etc.

Ask ANY fan on here, and he's a playmaker. Trust the game, not the stat sheet. He only was on the active roster the past 3 years, not 5. And again, his playing time was much much less than Wilsons. In no way am I saying he's an all pro, but he has the potential to start for us, for whatever it is worth.

And even if he isn't a barn burner, wait until you see Wilson try to figure out how to cover somebody (or who he is supposed to cover). Even better are his thunderous thuds as he hits and fails to tackle a 180 pound WR because he can't wrap up.

I don't know about Wilson but Lucas was NOT a playmaker.

"Okay in 5 years Lucas had 2 ints and 3 fumble recoveries.
Wilson in 3 years 6 ints, 2 total sacks, 3 forced fumbles. Give Lucas 3 years and Wilson still beats him."

Maybe Lucas could start for the old Cards but these are the new Cards the standards are being set a little bit higher.

Is that like a neener neener neener? Give Lucas Wilson's play time and I assure you his stats would be better than Wilson.

How can you say you don't know about Wilson by looking at the stats, but you'll pass the same judgement on Lucas using his stats? That makes no sense?!>@>??

......and so ends my interest in Vikesfan definition of "playmaker"

You said he didn't wrap up on WRs or know how to cover WRs that has nothing to do with being a playmaker that has to do with being a good player and I haven't seen Wilson play so I can't comment on that.

Wilson's stats show MORE playmaking ability then Lucas. I don't know if Wilson is a playmaker but he made more big plays then Lucas. He is more of a playmaker then Lucas.

I can't believe people on here are crying cause DG cut back up Ss and DTs from the WORST the absolute worst team in the NFL... its like the other poster said from what the posts here you would think DG is breaking up the Steel Curtain or the Purple People Eaters.

2 ints returned for touchdowns in limited regular playing time mostly as a nickle back.

He stats show he appeared in many games but that was all special teams.

I think we should have kept the guy.

Cutting bad players is fine....if you replace them with better ones. Anybody here interested in seeing Harris trying to cover ANYBODY? Can't say that I can. It can cause sleep loss

Cutting bad players who are better than their replacements is not good. Sign a safety, then cut the lowest guy. Seems smart to me.

Come on v/f just come out with it. DG did it so it is the right decision.

Who is going to be playing nickle back for us? Cornerback? Safety if someone gets hurt?

We have no depth and a serious lack of talent at db. Why release a gamer? Where is his replacement?

That's like ending a comment with "whatever" and your hands in a big "W"!!!
When all else fails, post his winning record!! Even DG makes mistakes.

We'll see how the team responds. Until then I get to gripe.
