Between Bender, Josh Jackson and Chriss I could swear that Smith is not the first top 10 pick that we gave up on and declined their option.

And yeah, I side with those who are saying we gave up on Smith. If he looks any good at all we won't even have the option to compete with any contract he is offered, if he does not reach that level here or doesn't play enough to prove anything then why on earth would he resign? Literally, the only way he is on our roster next year is if NO ONE wants him.
