Vegas, baby, yeah!
It has killed me to not post a Golden Knights thread in this forum all year. But with my Knights playing in the Cup, I figured it was time to take the plunge.** I'll contain Knights stuff to this thread, other than when we're playing the desert dogs.

Knights / Capitals for the Cup. Who woulda thought that at the beginning of the year (well, maybe the Caps were a good choice, given their performance last year)?

As usual throughout the playoffs, no one knows quite what to expect. Both Fleury and Holtby have been standing on their heads ( .947 v. .924 sv). Both teams are hot (especially with the Caps 2 game run in the ECF; Vegas took 4 straight after dropping the first game to the Jets). Both will be well rested (the Jets ran out of gas against the Knights, especially in the last few games by about midway through the 3rd).

Reading the "experts" opinions, they don't know what to make of this matchup either.

Personally, I think the Caps will come out strong. And the Knights will drop the first game or two because they've been sitting since Monday (same thing happened against the Jets for the first game). After that, the Knights will collect themselves and come back strong. I expect a 2-2 tie, and then one team to power over the other and take the Cup by 4-2. Keeping in tradition of the Knight's inability to seize a playoff series win at home, Knights will win on the road at the Caps in Game 6.

As a Sharks fan, it pains me to say I’m rooting for the Knights.

This should go to the Smack Shack with the annual Lakers threads. LOL

Just kidding. Yotes fans aren't as tightly wound as Suns fans.

Best of luck to the Knights !!

A lot of hockey fans are pained by the Knights playing for the Cup. r/hockey may be the saltiest place on planet earth right now.

But we're also getting a lot of bandwagon fans as well, so at least there's that.

The problem, for the Knights, is that some of our good players' contracts are up at the end of the season, including:

Karlsson
Neal
Reaves
Sbisa
Perron

I'm on the Knights' bandwagon.

I won't be buying any merch becaues their name sounds like something a world leader would set up in a hotel room with a hooker or two.

I saw some yahoo on tv at Dick’s in Vegas last week. Looked like there was a good sale going on.

I hate that the Knights are in the Yotes division.

I hate that they're going to beat the Dbacks record for a championship.

That said, it's a helluva story and having followed them all season - being in the Yotes division - I just don't see the Caps having much of a chance. Wouldn't be the the least bit surprised if Vegas sweeps them. Tampa probably would have been a better match-up.

Gotta go with the Capitals. The Dbacks record must stay intact. That is the only light in this season.

SCF tickets are on sale in a very limited amount. There's also the crapshoot: wait until just before to just after faceoff when prices plummet.

And in any case, you can just party in the Park.

I'm working all weekend, and hope to be done by faceoff on Monday. There's a little bar around the corner from the office with pretty decent wings; I think I'll go there to watch.

Correct that is the real fun

Read that if the Knights win that the sportsbooks will lose big time. A good number of people made some souvenir "joke" bets at the start of the season when the odds were in the several hundred to 1 range.

The estimated liability is somewhere between 10-50 million. Which sounds like a lot, but sports books took 250m last year on over 4b of bets.

I'm glad that as a Vegas resident I can see everyone happy and possibly get a championship. Wish the Coyotes would have kept my attention more past the Initial years downtown.

Just got back from Vegas. Loved seeing all of the support for the local team - including the Statue of Liberty at New York, New York wearing a Knights' jersey.
