We don't need a speed guy to get 1000 yards.Okay. But understand that Steve Breaston had 113 targets in his 1,000 yard season with us, and no less than 82 in the two seasons following.
If you're looking for a free agent with ideal size and speed and hands who will change the geometry of the offense, you're going to have to throw the ball more to attract them and/or justify the cost.
We need a speed guy to make 2 catches a game out of 4 or 5 targets a game.
Not everything Breaston did was over the top... I simply used him as an example of the type of player we need...a guy who can get behind the defense at will...and catch at least 40% of his targets or better....and as an example of how it opens things underneath, we all saw that.
Maybe it's not a FA...maybe it's a 5th round draft pick
