I wish all these fricking Insurance companies would cool it with the advertising, and pass the savings on to us.

If you had a quality product, and didn't spend a gazillion dollars a day to run commercials...buy naming rights etc... word of mouth would get you plenty of business.

I mean seriously.. Every night during primetime, it's like 70% pharmaceutical ads, 20% insurance, and maybe 10% or so of "others"

It makes sense. The prices of the ads go up, up, and up. Meanwhile with viewership declining, smaller corporations have to be smarter with their expenditures.

Pharmaceuticals and Insurance companies literally have money to burn.

that's really lame. better than some casino that most locals don't even recognize, but "State Farm Stadium" just has no flow

Trivia: What was the first pro sports team's arena to get a naming sponsor? It was The Forum in Inglewood, back when the Lakers ruled the NBA world in the '80s. Who was that first sponsor? Great Western Bank. Thus was born "The Great Western Forum". Talk about having a nice ring to it - doesn't even sound like some commercial name at all. Original fee: 20 years, $20m.

18 year naming rights, wonder how much they paid? i'd legally change my name to State Farm if they gave me like 25k a year realistically
Would you be okay with your wife calling you that in bed?

I agree with the sentiment, but without the ads would you be inclined to see if you could "save 15% or more with Geiko" or would you just roll with the status quo? I have no problem with State Farm or any other sponsorship. The only problem I had with UoP was the stigma of playing in a college stadium for so long and then naming the new stadium after a college.

Not at all.... I DVR almost 99% of what I watch, so their Ads are wasted on me anyway.
I shop it every year or so.

You say that now... I've been going by "Corky Romano, coming this Fall, brought to you by Enron" for the last 17 years.

Just had my first accident with insurance claim ever - and that little green sucker ain’t big enough to cover damages - paid insurance all my life without a claim - and when I need him - he gets pulled right out of his waders by a big fish!

- insurance is pure communism - spreading the risk among pools of the population - mandated by law - when I was a kid it was -no fault insurance+ where each person paid for their own property and health. So if you owned a $5000 car ypu needed $5000 of insurance - now we have to pay for everybody else’s property and health.

Could kneel in protest - but pretty sure the people, government and insurance companies like their lifelong premiums and the opportunity to sue me what I’ve saved in life. So yea State Farm is farming our state - now it’s thesmel harvest time - they might get their va disability check back - because I failed to stop in time in rush hour - my bad - but yea no love for insurance - no fan of State Farm at all - they gave themselves several large raises in a row before I dropped them years ago. I had no claims for a lifetime - and they double their premiums -

Overall I’m blessed by America - will defend her good and her bad - duty, honor, country. They can’t sue the Pat Tillman out of me - my ex wife is Russian and lived socialist/ communist for most her life- she puts color to the rhetoric - I know what I don’t want! But SFS it is - hope San Francisco doesn’t name their stadium after us.
