looks like i still don't agree with most here
but this year, i'm in the cup-is-half-full camp
this is a low point in the season but i see no reason why the suns can't get back to their earlier performance level and compete for the playoffs

but i was willing to trade Booker last year -- still am
Ayton is still soft and doesn't get it yet, but i'd like to watch him develop

this team really needs the energy & fire Baynes & Oubre bring
i'm still pissed we didn't keep Holmes for that reason

Love is a dud.
i thought he was a real drag most of the time for Lebron's Cavs
especially defensively
he'd be an improvement over Saric, but not much over Kiminsky
and a wreckless expense for a team not in serious contention

btw, the fricking cheapest option to view Suns games now is $55 per month via streaming!

It's still early in the season so I am still hopeful the Suns can turn it around but if they can't get their act together they may be sellers rather than buyers as the trade deadline approaches.

In that scenario, I see Baynes and possibly Oubre on the trade block. Nobody will want Saric or Tyler, and rightfully so.

Simmons also said that we should’ve traded Booker. He has a weird irrational disdain for Phoenix.
I think it stems from when Book dropped 70 on his Celtics

he hates this suns team!!! It’s to the point it’s almost comical

I don't get why Kevin Love comes up all the time. He's not the second coming of Tom Chambers.
It is because lazy people like me don't feel like doing the research and see who is available.:p

That's fair but "everyone" seems to mention him. I like some of the names listed earlier; Markannen, Sabonis, et al.

Also #F# Bill Simmons.

If we make a trade it's gotta be for a Danny Manning. Key player that will help us long term. Maybe at PF or SF, giving up Bridges and moving Oubre to the bench or vice versa.

Easier said then done. If those teams are out of contention at the deadline then it could transpire, if the Suns also aren't out of it by then as well.
If they go Love, Clevland would have pay a big chunk of that albatross deal, if they want anything back.

Well there’s a novel idea . . .

Amare in his 2nd year, while flawed, averaged nearly 8 FTA’s per. That was before Nash as well.

On the bright side we’ve seen guys like LaMarcus Aldridge improve their attempts over time but it will take a philosophy change from DA.

I don’t think so. He eventually looked like the hulk but not right outta high school.
Strength is often an attitude rather than bulk or muscle. Barkley had a big butt, but his arms and upper body were fairly normal. Even Baynes is not as muscular as some, but he just brings it.

Amare was so explosive which probably allowed him to play bigger. The first time I saw him explode to the rim I thought the Suns have finally found their first elite big man. He reminded me of Shawn Kemp.

Amare was pretty thin early on, but the dude could fly and, at least on offense, went right at people.

The Amare move that Ayton would benefit greatly from is that power dribble he would do when he got the ball about 10-14 feet out and then take two big strides at the rim. Ayton isn't as fast as a young Amare but he is still quicker than 90% of bigs and he is much much stronger than Amare was. If he just got his momentum going towards the hoop more he would often leave the defense with no choice but to let him dunk or foul him.

But... don't let Ayton watch any of Amare on the glass or on D... he is already well ahead of Amare in both respects.

If that's the trade off, Ayton starts playing like Amare on offense but also starts playing like Amare on the boards then I'll take it without hesitation. We can find a rebounder to put next to him. We won't find another 7 foot monster who owns the paint offensively.

Too bad Amare had injury issues. Players like that do not come along very often.

Hey, why not get someone like Tom Chambers? Well, why not get Tom Chambers? To paraphrase the Chuckster scenario.

Maybe if TC darkens his gray hair, no one will question it.:D:rolleyes: I hope that's enough smileys.
