What do you think of picking him up....He had 5 sacks last year....Better than our 2 Defensive Ends combined

2002 Jacksonville Jaguars 16 16 5 0 0 0
TOTAL 171 169 61.5 1 2 1

Skilled pass rusher has 56.5 career sacks ... Voted to the Pro Bowl in 2000, when he made 12 sacks ... Experienced lineman has played for Miami Dolphins (1992-95), San Diego Chargers (1996-98) and Washington Redskins (1999-2001)

He has been fairly consistant with sacks but he's older than I am! Still we could give him a workout and see if he has something left

He would be a very good pick up at this point.

I just hope the Cards organization isn't upset with him by what some perceived as him playing us to get a contract from Washington a couple of years ago.

He would be a solid addition to the rotation. That is if he is healthy . Bring him in lets take a look.

We've gone after him hard at least once, maybe even two, times before. Yes, I say give him a call and try to get him in here. I think he could help now, and I'm not real high on the future of either Dennis Johnson or Alton Moore. I want to see us do what we can to win this season. Not saying Coleman would be that much of a difference maker, but signing him would be just another sign to the team that the front office is serious about winning.

I am higher on Moore than I am on Johnson, More needs alot more strength to help us but he alot colser to helping this team than Johnson IMO.

Marco could add depth

but if he wants to be paid above the box then I don't see this happening! But, if he still wants to play football I'm sure the Cards could find a home for this guy.

Hmm. Jags cut Ike Charlton also.

He was a highly regarded corner back in 2000. I believe the Seahawks used a 2nd rounder on him.

Charlton never made a good transition to the NFL. He was a top corner in college, but never developed. Coleman should have been signed the moment he was released, if he can pass the physical. The Cards did the background when he was a free agent, but pitifully lost a bidding war. He's not the player he was then, but he's a vet and would make a contribution. The problem is the Cards continue to hold players like Johnson, believing he will develop. They know they can't contend this year, so why waste money on a vet? My answer is that I wouldn't cut someone who might develop, but I no longer put Johnson in that category. So, I'd rather have Coleman.

How about Lorenzo Bromell

1998 Miami Dolphins 14 0 8 0 0 0
1999 Miami Dolphins 15 1 5 0 0 0
2000 Miami Dolphins 8 0 2 0 0 0
2001 Miami Dolphins 16 1 6.5 0 0 0
2002 Minnesota Vikings 16 1 4 0 0 0
TOTAL 69 3 25.5 0 0 0
Acquired as an unrestricted free agent on April 9, 2001 ... Looks to take over the Vikings' starting right defensive end spot ... Accomplished pass rusher with 21.5 sacks in his four NFL seasons ... Originally a fourth-round draft pick (102nd overall) of Miami, a selection acquired in a draft day trade with Philadelphia.

Updating previous reports, Bill Williamson, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings are set to trade or cut DE Lorenzo Bromell Sunday, Aug. 31. Bromell has fallen out of favor with the team since he does not fit in their defensive scheme.

I would take Bromell over Coleman.
How about CB Hank Poteet cut from the Steelers?

Bromell has been cut and although I didn't see him in pre-season, I would hope the Cards take a serious look. Not a bad player and we obviously need some experience at this position.

Poteat was never anything more than a punt returner, and was expendable because of Randle El. He NEVER sniffed the field as a CB.

According to info on NFL.com he has missed the majority of training camp with injuries. Sounds like alot of risk involved here.
