If I understand the expansion draft rules correctly, Fizer is now an unrestricted free agent. He doesn't belong to the Bobcats any more than he does to anyone else.

Should the Suns offer him a contract?

I seriously would sign him.......He just never received quality minutes with the Bulls and is still relatively young..... He's a solid rebounder and has a decent inside offensive game.....

I thought he played more SF, but it looks like you're right.

I'm not sure that's necessarily a big problem. I'd rather have someone hungry like Fizer than McDyess as a backup PF, and if the Suns are going to go small anyway, that puts Stoudemire at center.

He puts up good numbers in his limited minutes. What kind of defender is he?

If we do trade Marion in a Tmac deal than it would make a lot of sense to bring in him in to play the SF.

Here's his profile on NBA.com

Here's a link when he was entering the NBA draft...

http://www.ibiblio.org/craig/draft/2000_draft/Players/fizer.htm

From what I gather...he can play both small and power forward....

I'd obviously want him over McDyess since he's younger and doesnt have that history of injuries...... Would definitely be a marginal, but worthy risk...

Because Amare needs a backup too. And for a few minutes you could always play 2 PFs.

If we are running out of caproom and need some cheaper roster fillers Fizer is definately a nice option.

He had some big games for Chicago when he got playing time and was healthy.

Fizer is one of those guys whose stats are always worth more than the player himself. There's a reason he's logged so much pine time, despite playing on one of the worst teams in the league year after year.

Anyway, unless Amare and Zarko both get injured like last year, there's no place for a mini-PF like Fizer in the rotation. In a Suns uni, he'd be as useless as teats on a man.

Fizer definitely was in Skiles's doghouse, but I'm not sure that's a meaningful indictment. Fizer's reputation is that he's not a team player and doesn't participate on the defensive end, but I'm not sure I've ever seen him play, so I'm wondering how accurate that is.

I thought I read somewhere that Fizer was bad at defense but had the potential to be instant offense like Mo Taylor. I guess 5mil for 3 years might be a good risk for the Suns. But if not for Dice's injury, I'd definitely want Dice's experience much better.

Fizer was shopped harder than any player I can think of - with zero response. I find it hard to believe he is worth bothering with.
