I can't blame him. I've never been a fan of giving public money (i.e. tax payers dollars) to private business.
Yes, the teams provide other streams of revenue, but I don't know if it really makes up for all the public $$ spent.
Does anyone have the numbers on this? Regardless, it will come down to a contract interpretation I'm sure.

Kendrick and Hall are not good baseball owners/management.

The product in the stadium (besides the lousy baseball) has declined as well.

It sounds like the county agreed to an agreement they are now refusing to live up to. They are blaming Kendrick and Hall but it looks like they are not living up to their agreement. I always thought the county signed a bad contract. Now they are being called on it. It all comes down to "what does the contract say"?

Correct.

Guarantee that this would be smooth sailing had these two payasos been able to set up a consistent winner and not a team that aims for the #1 overall pick in each draft.

I see the argument for both sides. If the deal signed back in the day calls for the city to pay then a deal is a deal. But Kendrick is not helping his cause by fielding such a poor performing product with an inept management team, himself included. The county is just throwing money down the drain because attendance isn't going to pick up unless this team starts winning on a yearly basis, people could care less how nice it looks if they stink.

Maricopa County and the Diamondbacks apparently dispute whether things like suite renovations and new scoreboards count as repairs per their contract. You'd sure hope that details like that would be defined explicitly in the deal considering it's an eight or nine figure check...
