At that point Id try to trade with Buffalo if still possible. But I would prefer Fason to Barber.

Barber doesn't do much for me, he's a good RB but he's neither explosively fast nor extremely tough. Maroney his running mate in college is better he has homerun speed.

While I normally agree with Russ...this aint one of those times (Maroney is faster but Marion is a pretty tough blue collar kid).

I think MB3 could end up solid but not spectacular ala Curtis Martin (though he's pretty close to spectacular). Ryan Moats is the most underrated back in the draft and I would be equally pleased to see us get him in the third.

I second that motion. And if we couldn't finalize that deal, whether we took either Fason or Barber would have to depend on who else was still on our board. For example, despite the position redundancy, could you overlook M Jackson or F Washington? Or if David Baas or Charley Frye were still undrafted, would you draft either Fason or Barber?

Depending on where they sat on our board, could we afford to wait til #75 to grab a RB - maybe Shelton or Jacobs?

I'll admit I haven't seen him much, just in highlights it seems like Maroney is running circles around him.

He totally does. Maroney will probably end up testing around a mid 4.3 when he decides to come out. He's really fast, man. That said, I think Barber could fit the bill if Rowen was serious about wanting a power back with a speed change up.

Sounds similar to JJ Arrington and Marshawn Lynch at Cal. I am one of the bigger Arrington defenders on the board but even I readily admit I expect Lynch to be a better NFL player. He's just too good to ignore. People can say he's too small at only 200 pounds but he's tough as nails, runs hard and has breakaway speed. he won't average 8.8 YPC next year as the starter of course but he's going to be scary good.

Maroney is similar get a crease and they're gone.

He was a man possessed running the ball on that last TD drive for 'dem boys. He was not gonna be deinied. He kept fighting to get a 1st down on one 3rd and short, then when it was jammed up in the middle he broke to the outside and beat everyone trying to get the angle on him for a pretty good gain. After he scored the TD to put Dallas up by 10 they showed him on the sidelines with his helmet off and he was one fired up dude. The kid has some intense passion. Wish he was a Card.

I'm glad someone finally said something about how much better Barber is than Jones. I don't usually like Deion, but he was dead on with that comment.
