The Miami Heat are a joke and should be demoted to the D league for the next 5 seasons.

who knows if marion has or not......played his final game as a heat. my guess is they'd want to keep him with all of that cap money they are supposed to have. and they may have the top pick in the draft to supplement dwade, and marion. If they can get a solid big man.....look out NBA. then people will be wishing they were in the Dleague. if anything pat riley is a genius for getting shaq out and giving his franchise player half the year off. no need for them to win another game......and risk getting one of their all star players injured in a meaningless game.

I miss his steal-run-down-court-for-alley-oop a lot.

Maybe we can give Miami our ATL pick, have them buy Marion out and do a S&T for our KT trade exception of 8mil.

Trade Barbosa for Calderon and Diaw/Tucker for Dalembert

Nash/Calderon
Hill/Bell/DJ
Marion/Giricek
Amare/Skinner
Shaq/Dalembert

You think Marion has played his last game as a Heat?

Doubtful, all these phantomish vague injuries have been coming up probably because the Heat want to tank. They probably told him 'listen, the East is weak, and will be next year. Lets just rest you this year, we'll get a great draft pick, and next year the core of Marion-Wade-Haslem-#1 pick will be able to make it into the playoffs no problem."

If Marion really wanted to opt out and try to get a big deal next year, he'd be doing everything he could to stay on the court this year and put up huge numbers and drive up his value. I've said all along that I don't think Marion will opt out, he's just not worth more than what he's making. So unless some idiot GM gives him a ridiculous deal (which I suppose is within the realm of possibility), he'll be on the Heat next year.

Ricky Davis and Jason Williams are both unrestricted Free agents, I don't have a clue what they'll do with them. On the one hand, they are super thin up front, so maybe they'd go after a free agent. On the other, the 2008 NBA Free Agent class is horrible. Depending on where they land in the lottery, Brooke Lopez could be a good pick for them, since they have decent wing talent and serviceable PGs (Quinn/Banks).

Probably welcomed by the Matrix. This team is going no where and im not so sure he was excited to go to Miami, even though he wanted out of Phoenix.

Ohh well, looks like David Stern will see the tank job and screw them out of the lottery like he did the grizzlies last season

The Heat SHOULD be a playoff team next season. People have to realize the difference between a healthy and injured Dwyane Wade, and the fact that they missed Shaq for quite a few games.

I think Marion will stay, Wade and Haslem will be back at full strength, and a high draft pick as well as some free agent signings/trades for support players will help them into the East playoffs.

Hah! Some of you actually think Marion's thinks or cares about coming back to Phoenix?

He had enough issues with being in the shadow of Nash and Amare. Now we have Shaq, he'd go insane!

exactly look at boston. not saying the heat are gonna get a KG type player.......but you never know. One thing is for sure. established NBA players are gonna want to play for the heat because of wade, marion, and riley. they know it's a winning formula. they already have an MVP caliber player and an all star forward. that's more than most teams in their current status have. add to that a high pick and money to spend? oh yeah....pat riley? this guy knows a thing or two. smart move by dumping shaq.....no disrespect to the daddy.

Most college, foriegn & HS players today never watched Riley coach when he was in his prime. Sure they might know the name, but his coaching style doesn't exactly make rookies want to play for him. Him tanking the season, quiting on his team to go scouting, holding out his best players to guarantee they don't win any more games and having 3-4 hour practices doesn't reflect well on him either.

I agree with that to an extent. but look at all of the successful teams he's been involved with. did a lot of young kids like playing for bill parcells, or tony la russa? probably not all of the time. but those guys are winners and seem to build teams up. riley is comparable. look at how well he has run that orginization. this is a bad year.....but they might as well of done what they did. the don't need to over pay the grandaddy....and they don't need risk wade getting injured. I can't see why players wouldn't want to play for riley and alongside one of the most promising young players in the game......that has already proven he can carry a team to a title. and the rookie they draft really doesn't get to pick which team he plays for anyway. free agents will go to miami if they are paid.
