Watched some of the game tonight. Not sure why I did but Mark Sanchez is just awful. Titans tried to give the game away at the end but Sanchez wouldn't let them.

Jets offense looked like ours. Not sure why they don't play the kid that came in and beat us.

I just heard on the radio that McElroy was inactive! Went with an extra WR instead. But what do you expect from a Ryan?

Sanchez has more turnovers the last two years than any player in the NFL with 50.

#2 is many posters choice to pursue via trade.... Phillip Rivers with 47. Ughhhhh

As I was watching the game tonight, I thought to myself... Sanchez would be a perfect fit for our offense.

Mind you, I'm not saying he would do good here, but he would fit right in.

Number 3 is Eli Manning, I believe. So, while the Giants are struggling currently, dont get bogged down in the stats all the time. Eli has a couple o rings to go with all those TOs.

Sanchez blows, no question. Rivers is a helluva QB whose recent TO problems have been exacerbated by a lack of talent around him.

Nightmare scenario: the Cardinals 'reach' for a USC quarterback in the first round and set the franchise back another 3-4 years. I'm sure the ESPN talking heads will be clamoring for a QB pick in the first round. I hope 'we' resist the temptation.

Sanchez has been awful in NY, but he does have some QB (arm strength, mobility)skills. He could benefit from a move out of NY, but I'll leave it up to our FO. After all that's why we're paying them the big bucks.

I was rolling with that idea this morning too. Change of scenery would help him out, but then I took a look at his career numbers -

At best he might be a backup for Kolb but I probably wouldn't make him a target if he became available.

I wouldn't make any USC QB a target. They have all failed to some degree (some more than others) in the NFL.

Sanchez was terrible again last night. I think the Jets wlll be in the market for a new QB next year. I sure do not want him on our team.

Yes, and yes.

Rivers has been hurt by the departure of Vincent Jackson. He needs a big #1 target.

What do you think he could do with Fitzgerald?!

And some people would give up as much for Josh Freeman as Rivers...:mulli:

I'd take a flyer on Freeman for sure, but I'm not giving up a 1st rounder for him.

Rivers was widely considered a top-5 QB as late as 2011.

This is a guy who's only had under a 60% completion rating one year in his career (2005, first year starting)

He threw for 4700 yards in 2010. 4600 in 2011. OK, he's had too many INTs the past two years (20 and 15) but still had more tds (27 and 22).Compare that to Freeman who had 16 tds to 22ints in 2011 and while he's much better this year 25tds to 12 ints, his compl % has gone down to 54.8%

Rivers might not be Brady, but he's only 31. How old was Kurt Warner when we took a chance on him? He could still ostensibly have his best years ahead of him in the right situation, and that's saying a lot, because to date his best year was 2008: 34 tds, 11 ints 4,009 yards 65.3 compl %

Compare to Warner in 2008: 30 tds, 14 ints, 4,583 yards, 67.1 compl. %

Anyone who doesn't want Rivers on this team (if he's even available) is downright crazy.

You really can't be serious can you? Some say John Skelton has some skills too.

Did you watch Sanchez against the Cards? How about last night against the Titans? Either you have the QB evaluating skills of Whisenhunt or our old pal Thesmel or your pulling our legs. Sanchez sucks terribly & a change of scenery isn't going his suckiness just like its not changing Skeltons abilities even if Don Coryell was resurrected to the Cards staff.

We are so desperate, that some of us actually believe that Sanchez would be a step up for us! God help us Cardinal fans, we've been through hell.

NO GET IT RIGHT WHIZ Hs set us back 7 years with his EGO and inability to
recognize QB talent. Look he wanted to bench Big Ben in Pitt. Totally ruined Matt, Broke his will.

It really show us that he must go along with Graves and Grimm. :mulli: :bang:

We will have somebody, Lindley, and draft pick at QB in 2013. I could live with Sanchez being the somebody. Wouldn't be my first choice, but I think with anyone, we are just biding our time until 2014 to see who our QBOF will be.

I hadn't heard that he wanted to bench Big Ben, but I'm not surprised. Guy has absolutely no clue about the QB position which is one of many reasons he needs to go.

If anyone ever needed a change of scenery it's this guy.

He'd be able to be had for a pittance, which in the Jets view would be a 2nd probably...na gon happen.

The real question is, would you give up a 4th round pick for Mark Sanchez?

I think I would, but I'm not sure I would trust him to be my starter. I could see using a 2nd rounder on a Tyler Wilson/Ryan Nassib, then trading a 4th rounder for Sanchez, and trying to build some value in Sanchez to try and unload him later. Sometimes a change in scenery can help a guy or a couple decent years as a backup can increase valeu for a young QB later on.

I think in Sanchez's case he needs to have his head put back on straight. A change of scenery would help but he also needs a coach that can help with that too and if anybody can make it even worse it would be Whiz so if you bring Sanchez to AZ you don't Whiz as the HC nor do you want Miller as the OC.

To have Sanchez come here and Whiz here too is a recipe for a major disaster.

No to Sanchez. No to Tebow. No to A. Smith.

None of whom are upper echelon QBs and if you want to get rid of Kolb, you need to consider someone who is significantly better; not this garbage.

um... the idea that A. Smith (who I'm not a huge fan of) with his 30:10 TD:INT ration, 97 passer rating and 65% completion percentage the last two years is "garbage" compared to Kolb's 17:11 TD:INT ratio, 83 passer rating and 58% completion rate is laughable. And that doesn't even mention Kolb's complete and utter inability to stay healthy in any way shape or form.

and again, that's coming from someone who's not the biggest Smith fan in the world. but he IS a better QB than Kolb and has at least shown the ability to stay healthier.

I heard someone on the radio make a great point. one of a quarterback's greatest abilities is his reliability. The ONLY thing we can rely on with Kolb is that he'll get hurt.

keeping him in any way shape or form after he's literally gotten injured or lost his job for four straight seasons is a complete and utter failure IMO.

The same Alex Smith that has had shoulder problems for a decent portion of his career? He's not exactly durable.

I've said it many times - take him away from Harbagh and he'll revert back to his old self. If he is an upgrade over Kolb (which I strongly think is not the case), its not significant enough to bring him in and learn a whole new playbook.

and apparently those shoulder problems are a thing of the past. Meanwhile, Kolb's got problems EVERYWHERE.

ANYONE who can stay upright (which Smith has shown the last couple seasons) and has shown any kind of level of competency is an upgrade over Kolb simply because Kolb doesn't have a body for NFL pounding. And Alex Smith has never had competent coaching save two times in his career - with Turner as OC and Harbaugh. Give him a competent coach and the kid has played well. Give him complete and utter incompetents and he doesn't. Meanwhile, Kolb hasn't shown competency on Smith's level regardless of where he's been and is about as strong as peanut brittle.
