Kieff has earned it. He met the challenge.

I also think he owes Horny a steak dinner for changing his role.

I like Hornacek but we might be selling Markieff and others a little short here. Bigs typically take longer than guards to develop and there is a normal process of growth involved and giving all this credit to Hornacek implies a level of incompetence by our previous coaches which may or may not be true and it ignores the hard work Markieff has put in to reach this point. It also ignores the work people like Mark West have done in helping Kieff improve. I know you want to say it's all a change in how he's used but I clearly remember Gentry talking about wanting Kieff to improve his shot selection and to stop hoisting all those threes (or something to that effect).

Gentry wanted Kieff to improve his shot selection ... Horny got him to do it.

Isn't it true that making shots is a skill, but where you attempt your shots is a discipline?

It sounds like Jeff Hornacek made it possible for Mark West to turn Kieff into a scorer. That's a good thing.

We have a college-type coaching staff right now that is focusing on teaching basic fundamental basketball. But we also have a roster of players who know how important this opportunity is for them and are listening.

Archie Goodwin is what, 18. He is younger than a lot of kids still in HS. He has been able to survive so far on athleticism. With all the one and dones, NBA a teams cannot assume even the best prospects come prepared to be professionals. They have to teach and a huge part of the draft process will be assessing teachability. To me, that was the big issue with Beasley. He had all the talent in the world, but no one could teach him anything new. Plumlee is just the opposite. If Archie is actually learning from Horny about how to shoot, he will be a VERY good player.

THAT is how the culture has to change. You get guys like Gentry and Blanks, who want to approach players the same way things were when they were playing, and it just does not work.

I hope we get him inked to an extension this summer itself.

I feel the same about Marcus Morris if the price is right. The Suns have two solid forwards in Markieff and Marcus even if it is only in backup roles. I used to feel differently about these two before the season but they have made me a believer. They are solid if not spectacular NBA forwards.

I hope Kieff gets extended to a contract similar to what Frye got back in 2010.

Marcus I think will get something in the range of $3M/yr or so.

Now let's get Mason Plumlee and the Suns are set on brothers. :)

Hahaha... you know what? That would be awesome

I think Mason Plumlee would be a nice fit for the Suns at PF if the Suns could figure out a way to pry him from the Nets. This gives hope that the Suns can find someone of his quality in the upcoming draft as he was drafted at #22.

Offer them Len. Its for his own good, he probably needs to get used to the idea of being seized by Russians against his will.
