The Miami #Marlins' season has been officially paused, as ⁦‪@CraigMish‬⁩ reported, with the team in quarantine with 19 positive test results. They likely won't be playing again for another week.

Why doesn't MLB just do the inevitable and shut it down for the year?

They're not playing in a bubble.

Just as so many other, and more important, things have been shut down.

It sucks! But we're fighting a worldwide pandemic.

And our country is in the worst shape of any due to its stubbornness.

BTW, MLB announced that players are not allowed to spit.

In the D-backs-Rangers game, the Rangers catcher lifted his mask and spit.

And the umpire, who was looking right at him, did nothing.

Oh well, at least the ump didn't lift his mask and spit, too.
