FWIW, it's early but Marshawn Lynch was interviewed after the USC game, said he hopes USC wins the NC for the Pac 10, loves to play against them, and said he'll be back next year to get another shot at USC.

I know lots of kids say that now but it was interesting, reports surfaced a few weeks ago that he was dropping hints he might come back.

Cal will lose quite a bit on defense, Mebane, Hughes, Bishop, Pimentel etc but they bring back a large chunk of their offense so if Lynch really stays look out.

And would have been the top pick overall.
We won't know that for sure....would the scouts have picked him apart enough that Alex Smith would have still been the top pick??

He still should have been a Top 3 pick last year.

The thing with Lynch is he's one of those different beat kind of kids. His uncle is ex Raider ex Card Lorenzo Lynch so he's not dirt poor. He's not a seek the limelight DeSean Jackson type he's very laid back, quiet, he knows he's good but I don't think he's going to worry about one more year before the NFL. Fear of injury could push him to the NFL but the kid is playing with 2 sprained ankles and a shoulder injury right now and doesn't seem to care about that. Jackson will go as a junior and have a hell of an NFL career, love the kid, but he's different than Marshawn there's a reason USC fans call jackson MESean, he's got a big ego, Lynch doesn't.

We'll see you never know until it's time to declare, lots of things can change from now to then. I'd love to see him stay another year at Cal but my guess is he'll ultimately decide to come out. Look at what happened to Michael Bush, came back, got hurt, could cost him a lot of money on draft day if he falls from the injury.

Marshawn is going to be one kid that as a Cal fan I'm really going to miss when he's gone. I'll miss Jackson too he's an amazing player, but Lynch is more my kind of kid he seems to play the game because he loves to.

I hope he stays. Makes our top-5 pick all the more valuable for a potential trade suitor.

I can't see any way in the world that Alex Smith would have gone over Leinart in any scenario I could envision. No way at all.

I dont think it matters. He isnt a top 5 pick. Maybe 15-20 range.

I've seen him anywhere from 10 to 20 really would depend on his 40 time and how healthy he is. Right now he's playing with 2 sprained ankles and a sore shoulder and still doing quite well, but he's definitely seen a bit of a letdown in recent weeks due to injury.

If he's completely healthy and runs the 4.4 they claim he ran as an incoming freshman(he's 10-15 pounds bigger now) I could see him moving up.

I knew he had no shot at the Heisman he's just not going to get the carries, and that's true again next year if he does come back he won't get enough carries.
