Spurs travel to Seattle tonight.

Should be an interesting matchup. I think the NBA league pass preview extends through tonight.

Normally the Spurs put me to sleep with their style but maybe the Sonics will spice things up a little. The Spurs tend to play to their competition. The Sonics have already beat the Spurs twice this season so the Spurs should be up for this game. The Sonics have slowed their pace in January but have won 3 of their last 4.

The only relevence to the Suns is the race for the best record by Feb 6. to decide the All-Star coach. To get Popovich the job the Spurs would have to win both remaining games @SEA and @LAL and they would need the Suns to lose one of the next 3 (@MEM, @MIN, NY). Of course if the Spurs lose one they would need the Suns to lose 2, etc

All three of the Suns opponents will be on the back end of a back to back set and NY will be near the end of a long western road trip.

Trying not to look past MIN, but we SHOULD hold serve and be up by at LEAST a half game over SA! I think SEA takes SA again tonight. Just a hunch. :D

McMillan leaves team indefinitely after mother's death

SEATTLE (AP) -- Seattle SuperSonics coach Nate McMillan will be away from the team indefinitely after the death of his mother, team officials said.

Associate head coach Dwane Casey will coach the team in McMillan's absence.

McMillan missed practice Sunday to fly to his mother's home in Raleigh, N.C. Jeanette Tyson, 62, died Sunday.

It is the second time this month McMillan has left the team to deal with family issues. On Jan. 13, McMillan missed a game against the Los Angeles Clippers to attend the funeral of an aunt.

Seattle hosts San Antonio on Monday night and is at Sacramento on Tuesday.

Sonics are getting spanked so far...
they should call the Spur's D 'Alcatraz' because they put even the most potent offenses on LOCKDOWN - Seattle had only 35 pts at halftime!
I know they are without R. Allen but still.. impressive.

Not to mention all of the bitching they do.

Another quick 'T' by Popovich in this game, btw...

wow, Seattle is getting annihilated.
I am sensing they may be in for a serious downswing.
I thought they would be a team that could possibly have a
mediocre second half after their brilliant start. The fact that
Allen is ailing and McMillan is having serious family problems
can't help.

Yea, preview is over, no Ray Allen, Sonics down 20 in the 4th. :(

Looks like the Suns will have to win out the week to get D'Antoni the All-Star gig.

The Suns had their slump and now it looks like the Sonics are having theirs. The Sonics are only 5-5 over the last ten.

The Sonics would have to have a total collapse or the Wolves get very hot for the Sonics to blow their 6 1/2 game lead in the Northwest division.

This preview thing was a joke. None of the Suns games were available here; the channels they played on remained blocked. Oh well.

The Suns games were blocked in Tampa?

I understood why they were blocked here but I was able to see all the other games.
