The Arizona Cardinals and DB Matt Ware have agreed on a multi-year deal, according to a league source.
Ware is a versatile depth safety who played in 11 games with one start last season, finishing with 24 tackles and one interception. The six-year veteran was an unrestricted free agent and has spent the previous four years in Arizona.

Matt Ware returns to Cardinals

It didn't have quite the same drama as Kurt Warner's dalliance with the 49ers last year, but the Cardinals have kept safety Matt Ware away from a division rival.

Who's Matt Ware you ask?

He's a special teamer and a backup safety that will be insurance for the highly paid starting duo of Adrian Wilson and Kerry Rhodes. His importance is also proof that last the Cardinals probably whiffed on last year's third-round pick, safety Rashad Johnson.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports the Cardinals re-signed Ware to a multiyear deal after he visited Seattle Monday.

and i agree Ware isn't a sexy signing but one taht helps a lot. And wayyyy too early to call Rashad a bust. he does need to hit the gym and film room though,.

I second the motion, just ban the troll, he adds nothing to this board. We have Ronin on here who is a Niners fan who legitimately wants to talk football, not smack like this troll.

Ware was a VERY valuable defender for us last year, and his injury coincided with a defensive collapse. I'm pleased as punch that the Niners didn't steal him away from us, the Niners would've vastly improved their secondary. Heck, I'm not convinced Dashon Goldson is better than him and in fact Profootballfocus ranks Ware as a better safety than Goldson the 49ers starting free safety.

I'm with you. He didn't look THAT bad when he got a chance to play late in the year.
