I know Ive said this a lot lately but...

...hope THIS win gets us out of our funk

I hope so. I am sure if Gentry had went with benching the starters when the second unit were playing great. This team would have won more games. Hopefully he sticks with it.

Great win. The TNT curse is over. Gentry made the right decision by not putting Amare back in the game during the last 8 minutes or so. I'm not sure what is going on with Amare because this is the third game in a row he has played uninspired. Nice to see the Suns play with some defensive urgency in the fourth quarter.

The bench played amazing.

I thought Stat could at least pull down 5 boards but tonight was an epic 1 in 26 minutes.

Nice to see Gentry put Dragic in for Nash at approximately the 19 second mark for defense. I think Gentry is now determined to coach the Suns his way.

This Dragic switch should have been done a long time ago. We blew so many games.... We'd have 30 wins by now.

I think Gentry nailed it when interviewed earlier this afternoon. he said although Amare is trying to play professional, but he is still a kid and all the trade talk is getting to him.

That'd have been considered an insult to the 2xMVP early days, well days before we know we are officially rebuilding and Gentry has to perform as a coach to get his pay.

:mulli:

Max contract to a guy who can't play hard knowing he can cash in next year? Falling to trade talk pressure? Time to move him folks.

It seems to me that Amare has decided that since he won't be a Sun much longer, he isn't interested in putting forth the effort to help us succeed. Short Timer's Syndrome.

I doubt even Amare (not to mention his agent) can be that stupid.

Mentally, he's just not into it. He's playing not to get hurt 'cause he already has one foot out the door.

I give Gentry credit for have the guts to bench Nash as well in the last few minutes.

Amare was benched in the 4th, Nash was defensively subbed for very short periods of time a little bit different. Again Amare with 1 rebound, 5 TO's and no assists, trade him if we can get anything decent!

Good win by the Suns.

I didn't think that Amar'e was on the bench for the end of the game to be a punishment for poor performance. I think Gentry was countering Carlisle's going super small. In a way, yes, Gentry put his best small defenders out there at the positions that needed defending and that didn't include Stoudemire. That's not a punishment, that's just the truth.

Say what you want but Amare being on the bench pretty much the entire 4th speaks volumes of how he has been playing, both defensively and rebounding and hustle! I wonder how he feels being a cheerleader when its crunch time and his no hustle ass is on the bench? Hopefully he would take this as a wake up call but after years of the same crap we all know he will be the same Amare, I can score and NOTHING else!

I've been for trading Amare for quite sometime but let me give him credit at least for last night's game. He seemed genuinely happy for the Suns win without him being in the lineup in the 4th quarter. This had to be hard for him to accept the benching especially with the Suns playing on TNT. However, this cannot continue with Amare's ego before things start to get raw. I hope Kerr does not string a trade out because it appears all but inevitable.

I love this Amundson quote, regarding playing late in the 4th quarter:

"It was cool," said Amundson, who finished with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting. "It was a lot of fun being out there. We all came in and gave the team something different."

Something different? Hey Lou, do you mean defense? Go on, you can say it...

Good win by the suns vs the mavricks. loved that clutch 3 by nash in a way it's sad to watch amare play for us knowing he might be gone soon. Sure he doesn't play any defense or rebound for that matter but he is fun to watch on offense sometimes. But if we get another solid defender to go next to Robin Lopez we could be real solid in the future. Good win GO SUNS!!!!

No better way to emphasize defense by Gentry than to let the defensive guys finish the game. We weren't winning the regular way, so let's mix it up and see what happens.

We oughta make Lou an assistant coach. ;)
