That's actually kind of cool!

Odds are, we're just going to end up a footnote at best and a laughingstock most likely. OTOH, if he defies all odds and actually succeeds he'll end up being a Warner-like legend.

My guess is this is like what happens on a ship just before it rolls over and sinks, often times it rights itself a bit and it seems as if no one has to die and then.....

Seriously, this is comical, we go out and sign a guy who fails in 4 games.... FOUR GAMES and then our best hope is a UDFA rookie QB?

What do they smoke down there and can I get some?

Gotta love fans, kinda like hoping the newest Christian is going to beat the lion finally.

Good luck Max, still better than DA, but then again that's not saying much.

It would be very Warnerish in legendary terms if he is a hit, I won't point out that for every Warner out there, there's probably about 200 failures in terms of UDFA QB's, but hope springs eternal.

We must not use "undeniable" the same way because I certainly consider your comments deniable. It's easy to argue that coach chose between the lesser of two evils rather than going all-in with DA as you state. And it wouldn't be hindsight on our parts to take that stance as many of us predicted early in preseason that Hall was likely to be named starter by or during the bye week.

Steve

You sir, are denied.

Our starting QB was no longer our starting QB.

Exactly. No one to blame for that, than the coach.

That still doesn't mean he thinks DA "has it" only means he though he was a better option than Matt. Big difference.

DA doesn't have it. We both know that. Every rational football fan knows that. It's scary to think of a scenario where Whis still thinks DA might 'have it.'

For being supplanted by a HOF QB? Or for doing whatever was asked of him? (coach's words)
For still not being good enough. For playing like crap. Whatever, Whiz' words were, look to his actions.

Don't want to lose your job to crappy DA or crappy Max Hall? Play better. Shut up. Lead the team. Spend time with Fitz in the offense like Fitz wanted. Don't have to be pulled when you are put in for mop up duty.

His actions are telling me that he either doesn't know how to handle the QB situation very well this year.

Speaking of mop up duty... Yes, Leinart did throw a pick there. Cutler gave the ball right back. We were up 2 TDs in FG range with 6 minutes to go. Whisenhunt panic'd and didn't give him a fair shake IMO.

Oh please. Leinart blew it. He did the same thing against the Rams and the Seahawks. Then he blew it again in the beginning of the preseason.

What happened to personal responsibility? You want it for Whiz? What about holding Leinart accountable?

Why not hold the coach accountable? 1 QB fails, blame the QB. 2 fail, then start looking at the coaches and the schemes. Especially when you hand picked the second one.

Fine, Whiz' moves didn't work. Leinart has no responsibility. What a victim. Poor guy, Whiz failed him. All Whiz' fault Leinart threw the pick in Chicago off his back foot when all he was supposed to do was not throw a pick.

Leinart could not have done anything more. Got it.

<just posting to have last word>

You just cant bring yourself to admit to not holding Leinart personally responsible.

Partial, not fully responsible. There's a difference. I hold Whisenhunt responsible for not securing the QB situation and putting in DA who sucks even worse. Is there anyone out there that claims that Leinart would have done worse than DA?

I would still think he got a raw deal here, but I'm more upset that he went from someone who was 'not good enough' to someone that is not good at all.

Fair enough. Don't be upset. In the past.

We should all know that being a fan of this team has the ability of bringing out your unsavory character traits. :D

I felt that way too at the time but in hindsight I really think those pullings of Matt indicated Whiz just didn't trust him and didn't think the team trusted him either.

Are you talking about Matt now, this year or in the Chicago game?
