Put him in at DT or MLB then. Couldn't be any worse than the clowns there now.

I was impressed, good form.

Maybe he should be teaching our ST and defense how to tackle. After that performance they need as much help as they can get.

Btw I was glad I was wrong about all the blame going to Josh last year. You were all right, a QB change made the offense work magnificently :sarcasm:

This isn't picking on Kurt who actually had a pretty good game (minus one very bad pick). It just go back to those fooling themselves that we were one player away when in fact we need a crap load more help than that.

I agree.

Josh got a bit of a shaft last year.

We should have just let him learn the rest of the year but that ship has sailed he will be gone at the end of the year and playing somewhere else as a backup I guess.

Convert him to a wideout like Matt Jones. He can run and he is tall.
Jones...looked impressive in limited action today.....McCown....doesn't have his stride.

Umm, it was more of a case that replacing McCown just took one more step towards being a better team. I never thought just adding Warner was gonna be the savior....but adding Warner, Okeafor, Huff, etc etc was a step in the right direction so we could get rid of starters like Zellner, McCown, and McKinnon.

Fact still remains that McCown isnt a very good QB. He cant read a defense to save his life. But he being removed as a starter was just one step in the process, not the end-all-be-all final piece to the puzzle!

Sadly some people did. This really isn't a statement on Josh or Kurt. I brought the flaws off during last season but was either a) laughed off or b) told repeatedly that the flaws were that of Josh's poor play (i don't think he was that poor but whatever).

The simple fact is that if you can't run and you can't stop the run then you can't consistently win in this league. Just to prove my point Warner was one of the top 5 statistically (as it comes to yardage) in passing, all of these QBs also had another thing in common ... THEY ALL LOST.

I just don't want to hear more complete BS about how the QB is the be all, end all for team success. This is a team sport, if members of this team do not do what they are supposed to the result of this game will continually repeat itself over and over and over again. This team is flawed and the coaching staff and FO have to come to this realization quickly or this season will be a disaster of epic proportions

I don't ever remember anyone saying that the only reason for last year's poor play was Josh McCown. That's an absurd overgeneralization that you're most likely putting in people's mouths in order to defend your boy. Most of us realize that McCown and the QB position is one of the flaws of the team you decribe. Unfortunately, it's a flaw that hasn't been legitimately addressed in about two decades.

90% of our offensive faults were due directly to Josh McCown according to swd (see http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showthread.php?t=59996&page=5&pp=15).

Its not an absurd generalization when I bring up the faults of the team and yet get laughed off because of one player. We can't run the ball and we can't stop the run ... two things needed for an NFL franchise to succeed on a regular basis. It was a problem last year and is even more of a problem this year.

I just don't get the obsession with one damn position. Throw Byron Leftwich on this team, hell even Peyton manning and they would struggle.

McClown's best sport is basketball. That SMU reject nearly got our best WR killed.

Umm yea because its his fault that he threw a perfect ball to Fitz who was hammered by the perfect timing of a Giants Defender. That could always be helped.

Give me a break Shane. A perfectly thrown ball that led his WR right into a waiting safety. :biglaugh:

Umm yea a perfectly thrown ball. Thats what you do is lead your WR last I checked? Hmm I guess were supposed to worry about how and when our recievers get hit in this new Girly sport your wishing for? Fitz could have just as easy ducked and let the pass sail. He obviously had no problem with it.

Actually part of being a good QB is making sure your WRs don't get killed. And I'm guessing Fitz would have ducked had he saw the safety (although it is McCown's job to do such and throw accordingly) considering the score and time left.

Yea your rigth I guess. Its the job of a QB to see a S that is waiting to streak in for the hit probably 15-20 yards away from Fitz at the time the ball is released.

Yes Jones did. He gained almost as much on one play (end around) as our team did in the entire game. Also made a great catch in the endzone that carried him out of bounds. Those who said he would not make it as a wide receiver in the NFL will find they got it wrong.

Right you are. If you cannot run the ball you will never compete in the NFL no matter who your QB is. When Warner was doing all that passing with St Louis he had Marshall Faulk to keep the defense honest. We probably had the worst running game in the NFL this week.
