Ignorance.
Really? Fitz wants to win, do you actually think he will re-up long term without a viable QB? We are looking at 2-4 more years of rebuilding here IMO and Fitz wants a Super Bowl.

He already has the team by their short and curlies and they will NOT be able to keep him with the trash currenlty on this team in positions of Major importance including our Coordinators.

What are the chances this just happened...?

Sunday afternoon Redskins owner Dan Snyder is chiilin with with his fam, watching some amazingly large screen TV, he stumbles upon the good old AZ Cards game. After watching our QB play, he quickly realizes this can happen to his team. So he freaks out.

He gets Coach Shanahan on the horn, poor coach can't even understand him at first, because Snyder is just losing it big time. Then he hears that Snyder wants to pay the big bucks to McNaab, FOR A LONG TERM CONTRACT. Shanahan is blown away by this and tells the owner that this might be jumping the gun, suggesting they wait until off season and after evaluating the QB spot.

Snyder says if you do not agree with me, go watch the AZ game, and call me back. Shanahan agrees, watches the AZ game, calls Snyder back, and says "Yeah, 5 years sounds great."

I guarantee our QB next season is Marc Bulger.

On June 23, 2010, Bulger reached an agreement with the Baltimore Ravens on a one-year, $3.8 million deal that also has the possibility of increasing to $5.8 million through incentives.[5]

Yes really.

Shane you really need to face reality on this subject. If you were #11, you can honestly say (given what you're seeing on the field) you would sign with the Arizona Freaking Cardinals?

Wanna bet that Minny ends up with Kolb or Vick?

I've been hoping for Kyle Orton...but he's been playing too well for the Broncos not to renew.

They certainly would be able to afford a dynamic QB with Favre ($20 mil this season) coming off the books, but like I said, I dont think it would be Kolb based on the fact that he's signed for 2011. Vick will be the man available.

But if not, Matt Leinart is available next FA ;)

Isn't Fitzgerald still under contract next year?

Cannot answer without knowing what the team will look like a full year and a half from now, that is the reality. You know when he will be a FA.

This has got to be a first, doom and glooming events that may or may not happen 1.5 years from now.

What a horrible contract. Vick is definately not leaving Philly, he is 100x the QB Kolb is and Andy Reid would be making a huge mistake to let him go.

;) You left out Bruce Allen (Washington GM and son of George) yelling "The future is now!" Classic Allen family move IMO.

Thanks Dan Snyder. Just when it was really looking bleak for us around here, you pull a super-******** move like this to brighten our day.

We may not have great ownership, but we don't have the dumbest owner in the NFL either.

According to ESPN.com's Michael Smith.

5 years, $48 million, some $15 million guaranteed.

So there's that.

I have to say this one took me by surprise. A 10mil backup? Nice if you can afford it. Vick has been playing all world. Of the free agents I have been looking at my choice would be Kyle Orton. I do not know if Denver intends to resign him or not but he has been playing some solid football and is not that old. Like any well managed team we still need two QBs who can play in the NFL. Perhaps a good draft will bring us one who is on the fast track. If Anderson is on an extended contract it is unlikely the Cards would cut him and eat the money. That is not in there genes. You see other teams fire coordinators and even head coaches in mid season but that also is not in the Cards genes. If ever a team had fallen and cannot get up it is the Cards. It will go from bad to worse if we end up losing Fitzgerald. Management needs to do something. The worst thing we can do is to do nothing which seems to be our way of handling things. Did we extend Whiz's contract after going to the Superbowl? Personally, I do not blame everything on Whiz although he has made some bad moves. I still come back to Graves and/or the family who put the team together. I never like to lose but it is probably in our best interest as fans if we do lose so we can be high on the draft list. That will take care of itself the way we are playing.

Makes no sense too after what happened last week. That ruins a major option for us....We should have went after him...Now who do we get...I say we have to get Vick but I dont see that happening...But Philly cant pay Kolb and him big money....So Vick may be expendable.

Vick is playing like the best QB in football right now. I sure would not hold my breath waiting for the Cards to sign him. His price will be out of our league. His current team are idiots if they do not resign him. I think Kyle Orton may be our best choice unless he is resigned.

the only good thing. no more McNabb topics.

well, SI threw Matt Hasselbak name. From what we saw yesterday, he is still doing it. Not along term solution though.

It's getting harder now. At least we had a hope

He is getting long in the tooth and has been having more and more injuries. I do not like him as our QB.

Orton is signed through the 2011 season.
